We return to normalcy and will probably be the favorite in all our remaining games. I have a feeling that I would not want to be in Siena's shoes Tuesday night. The next 5 games will decide the difference between a good season and a superior one. I am betting it will be the latter.

Not sure its back to normalcy yet. 9:30 starts in front of 18M empty seats isn't the norm. I do think Oldtimer is right that Siena is probably going to pay for this loss and if they don't this team just isn't as good as we hoped.
Speaking of normalcy a 9:00 start next friday and a 10! two weeks from then makes the next few weeks a little unnormal as well. Iona needs to take care of business one strange game time after another.

Not for nothing, but if we don't rebound Anosike will have a field day and we will be in another dogfight. Siena will sit in the zone and dare us to make 3s and have someone other than Glover beat us. This won't be easy.

We are one of the worst possible matchups for Siena. They have been playing six or seven guys and there is NO WAY they can keep up in a fast paced game. Hofstra was running in subs every couple of plays, and did a great job of keeping fresh legs in the game. I guess it's possible that Siena could have some new guys returning from injury that I don't know about, but if they have to go with six or seven players, I would think that it will be a loooooooong night for the Saints.

The Maac games will all be competitive as the rest of the field tries to give us body blows.

Agree the MAAC games will be tough as this team has a target on its back and has to expect the same kind of effort Hofstra gave, pretty much night in and night out. Iona has been getting all the press and attention (nationally). Guys are going to want to knock us off bigtime, especially Manhattan imo.
Having said that, if this team isn't ready to blow Siena's doors off in MSG there is something wrong. I don't have any personal knowledge, but I get the sense that Scott, MoMo, Mike, Randy, and Kyle work hard in practice. Whoever isn't putting in the effort needs to step it up. That's what TEAMs do. I know we want to get up the floor, but we have to secure the rebound before we can go anywhere. And we can't have constant defensive lapses. Guys need to know by now where they are supposed to be.
This team can be very good, but it cannot take practices and games off and expect to win. Like Mike McCarthy, who's team is 14-1, is fond of saying. Games are won during the week (in practice).
Happy New Year to all !!!!!!

Iona fans sure are a tough bunch. That allright and the way it is supposed to be. For a small school with a enrolment of aprox 4,000 students we have built quite a reputation in the college basketball world. In the past 5 years we have gone from a RPI of 326 to as high as a top 25 team, and a team the big boys shun. We won 25 games last year and wth any luck will exceed that this year. 95 per cent of schools would take that in a heart beat and the future looks bright..... So lets chill out a second and enjoy the moment..............I am.....

I haven't seen so much panic here since that year when we had that horrible new coach, who was in way over his head, and we lost our first 3 games. Actually, I think it was last year. How did that season turn out? I gave up after the 0-3 start and stopped paying attention.

FWIW, I'm not panicking, just incredibly disappointed by the team's effort at Hofstra and questioning, as a result of Cluess's statements, whether some of the guys have what it takes to develop their games. Or are they content just to put on the uniform and say "look at me, I play D-1 basketball."

Look for the Gaels to be very cold from 3 in the big garden but come away with a last minute win.
