Inexplicable loss. We just aren't a very well coached team right now. Can't blame this on the guy's effort. Didn't help that we couldn't shoot tonight. Gonna have nights were we struggle to shoot. Don't know why we call the press off when up 20-2 unless it was b/c Scott got the second foul. Don't recall the timing. Also, why didn't Armand or Jenkins get any shots. Kyle was off tonight but he kept his two best shooters on the bench. Words can not describe what a horrific coaching job this was. This team has very little chance of winning in Springfield, unless Cluess takes a look in the mirror and gets back to basics. Press Scott penetrating and dishing Armand, Jenkins and Smyth shoot 3's Glover scoring inside This team has been outsmarting itself and not concentrating on what it does best.

I agree with all of the above. Quick question, I have only followed the Gaels since the 03' season as that was my freshman year. Anyway, has anyone ever seen a team like this... a team that one night can beat just about anyone in the country and the next night lose to one thats 200+ in the RPI especially in the way they lost tonight? I cant think of any team ever that can do what they have done this season. BTW... someone on that teams owes me $7.95 after paying for that game and his name is not Mike Glover thought he played great

Look at the bright side. If we make the NIT, that beats the CIT tourney we played in last year.

This wasn't Scott's fault down the stretch. I think MoMo tried to do too much here. Don't understand, other than it being our style of play, how we can blow big leads as often as we do.

Starting to think Momo and Cluesss had a verbal deal that if he could guarentee him 30+ minutes a night he would come to Iona. Not giving Jenkins or Armand a chance when no one is hitting 3's just doesn't make sense.
This team is no lock for even NIT, , back to back CIT possible.
Thought Hofstra was fluke , then hoped Manhattan was another fluke, now I know they were no fluke. If they aren't hitting 3's Gaels are just not that good, and not playing Jenkins or Armand really makes it tough to be good at hitting 3's, Smyth is hot once every 5 games.
As good as Machado is for 39 minutes I don't want the ball in his hands in a last minute situation, he is terrible at this. Now I'm done!

Clearly the rest of the season is just an exhibition, they've made it Springfield or bust!

I'm not going to get down on TC, we're going to miss him when one of the "bigs" snatches him up. Face it, in the second half we couldn't hit water if we fell out of a boat. If the threes aren't falling, go inside to Glover. He's a beast and even he missed a couple of chippies tonight (although I though he got mugged on a couple).
I cannot explain tonight, but these guys need to quit reading the headlines about how good we are and concentrate on playing the game. Tonight's second half was just horrible.
I am still willing to bet that we will be the 1 seed and will win the tourney, but we need to get back to the way we were playing earlier in the season.
Go Gaels!!!

TC isn't going anywhere if his teams keep blowing leads and underperforming like this. He's been entrusted with talent (on paper at least) that a lot of coaches would kill for. Now TC has to get them to perform up to potential.
That's what coaches at the "bigs" do.

This takes a lot of pressure off. Now I can just wait until the MAAC tourney and tune in. BTW, Scott did fine down the stretch. Every shot we took late in the game there was contact, but no calls. Hard to complain though when we had a 21-10 FT advantage. We got all the calls early; they got them late, and they made their shots.
This team can't force shots in close games. MoMo, if you're covered by two guys, pass the ball. You don't have to be the hero every night. Let's play like a team.

Coaches in the "bigs" have more talent, depth wise, than TC has at Iona. He's a proven winner at every level he's coached, including at Iona. Did the Gaels put up a stinker in the second half tonight, damned right, but he's been a very good coach overall and I wouldn't be surprised if a school like St. Johns didn't put out some feelers for him considering what is going on there right now.
I am not concerned about IC, but I am concerned right now about what is going on in some of the player's minds. Watching the looks on some faces, it seems like chemistry is an issue.

Just a stupefying loss. I feel bad for the guys. We'll see what kind of character they have now. Are they gonna bounce back and work as a team? Band together? As bad as this is, they have to learn from it and move on.
Sometimes you just don't get it done, and the breaks don't go your way down the stretch. Got to keep fighting though. Forget it.

Relax guys. Everyone gets mitch-slapped every now and then. You are still the class of the MAAC.
