Another friggin 9PM or later game as Maac moves Fairfield at Iona game on 24th to 9PM and puts us on ESPNU wild card game and ESPN2 7PM wild card game is Rider Loyola.
Iona again doesn't get ESPN2 wild card game. Obviously move to appease Loyola because they did not get bracket buster TV game, but by far Iona Fairfield game is more interesting and appealing, and I am pretty sick of these late starts.
Maac really sucks, wait to people realize Maac tourney is only available on a hard to see computer screen. I am pretty confidant ESPN full court will not offer this.
Stupidity on wild card game and Maac tourney!

Yes for people in California this is a great schedule! This is the most un fan friendly schedule you can possibly put together. Surprised we didn't play one of our home games up in Springfield as Fairfield had to or the 6AM ESPN season opener game.
I had just assumed Iona Fairfield would be the ESPN2 game that night, hard to believe it isn't.

Why would ESPN need to appease Loyola/Patsos? When did they become Duke?
Anyway good to spread the love. I'm fine with this.

I guess somebody forgot to remind Maac/Espn that St. Peter's vs Niagara also was an available game that night. Just poor poor decision making!

Seriously Joe, I understand your frustration and I do think they need to be more considerate of their regular customers. But they do it for a good reason - exposure - it helps with recruiting and at our level you have to be extremely flexible or you won't get any exposure. I'm sure they feel the trade-off is worth it. I agree though, the loyal fans and the ones that buy the tickets get the short end of the stick on these deals.

My guess is that there was some sort of a deal beforehand--that the MAAC wasn't going to give Loyola the BB game, but give them the wild card ESPN 2 game.
Also, had they given it to Iona, then ESPN or ESPN2 would have been coming to Hynes twice in 6 days--and I just can't see ESPN wanting that, unless we were undefeated a la Murray.

So what's up with the 7pm start on a Sunday night against Marist?

So what's up with the 7pm start on a Sunday night against Marist? Think that helps us Nick. Don't we play in Baltimore the Friday night before?

ESPN did this a few times to Nevada when the WAC was a higher conference than they are now. Many of our fans critcized the late starts as I think they had a few of our games starting at 9pm local time for television but that was usually during the week which made the fans angrier.
