I'm in Vegas. Going to take Manhattan and give 4. Mistake. Sent from my ADR6300 using ProBoards Correct! Creighton bailed me out.

I would like to see standard tie breaker rules throughtout Div. 1 basketball. They should be simplified. I also would like a rule that any team that has less then a 500 per cent winning percentage able to play in their season ending tourney, but ineligibe for the NCAA Tournament. That has occured a few times in recent years. It is entirely possible season ending ties in the MAAC will test the limits of the hard to follow ascending rule section and bring about needed changes........I have in frustration given up and will wait until somebody else figures it out. GOOD LUCK SID....... I'll see if I can simplify it... think of it in stages, it's not as hard as it appears: 1) Head-to-head ... if there's more than two teams tied, the record of all three teams against each other if still tied 2) Record vs. the first place team (notice it's place, not No. 1 seed)... if there is a tie for that place in the standings, you take the record vs. all of the tied teams (do not split that tie). if still tied 3) Record vs. second place team (follow same rules as stage 2) if still tied... 4) record vs. third, and so forth and so on... if all is still tied a the end of that, it's a coin flip. With Manhattan losing yesterday, we should have now own the tiebreaker over Loyola... using the rules above: 1) H2H 1-1 move to 2 2) W-L vs. first place - can't do that, move on to 3 3) W-L vs. second place - can't do that, move to 4 4) W-L vs. third place - Fairfield... Iona 1-0, Loyola 1-1 , Iona wins the tiebreaker I can't remember exactly, the scenario, but last season, if we had lost to Fairfield in the last game and Rider lost to Saint Peter's, there would have been a coinflip to break the tie b/w us and Rider. Since we won, we had the better record vs. the first place team so we got the No. 2 seed.

SID:
That was my understanding. I think with all the FFD/LOY road games (including travel and make-up game for FFD), a win against the Stags will be the key to getting the #1,whether alone or by tiebreaker.
Should be interesting

Win our last two MAAC games and we don't have to worry about tiebreakers.

I think if we beat Fairfield we clinch the one seed.
