Small by comparsion, solid in it's defense stance. The Iona Ruggers took on the "B/C/squad from the World Wide known N.Y.A.C. Well done boys!!! They weren't so big & ugly as advertised. Iona played them to a draw in both B & C games. A big shout out to the 4-5 former Iona grads whom now take the colors of N.Y.A.C.

3/24. IONA WINS, the Clove Leaf Rugby tournament @ Randells Is. The Iona ruggers defeated U.R.I., Stony Brook, Fordham (twice) & St.Joseph's ( Philly). This is a great tune-up for the Big Game vs #18 ranked St. Bonnies @ Iona on April 14th.

Bonnies 37 Iona 26. Tough game, I thought Iona was going to pull it out. This proved to be very unfortunate for Binghamton. Iona came back on Sunday and sent Univ Of Binghamton home with a 55-7 beat down. Our Ruggers hit the road next wked (R.I.) to defend their Title in the east coast largest rugby tournament. "The Beast of the East" Last yr Iona won this in the 32 team field. Good luck guys...

"Beast of the East" Champs 2 yrs in a row. Our North ave ruggers won their two games on Saturday, advancing to the finals on Sunday. Sundays opponents were also undeafted. The University of R.I. & Southern Ct, both premier teams from New England . They played in the cold rain on natural grass that looked like a mud bowl. Well done boys you took both games, 4-0 this wked. It's also worth noting that on the recent "Incoming Freshman day" on campus more than 35 incoming athletes signed up for this club sport that's been around Iona since 1977. Alumni game on campus May 5th. Come on down.
