I'm not sure that TC wants him on the team, as he might feel that it would not be best for his son. But I am wondering if it would cost the team one of its 13 scholarships, as I believe that kids of employees get a free ride? Does anyone know? Based on an interview I heard with Cluess I agree with IC59, sounds like he isn't thrilled with the idea of coaching his sons. I think unless the kid really pushed to want to play for his father he will end up elsewhere. The other possibility is if he isn't good enough to get a D-1 scholarship and really wants one he could end up at Iona as well. Nothing that he ever directly said, but that is the feeling I got also. I don't see him on any recruiting list, so I have no idea of the level of interest.

he is not considered division 1 talent... Purchase? I'd go for a license with an option to buy. Beat Greg to that one.

If he's not considered Div 1 talent maybe Siena would be interested

86, why does it count against the scholarship limit, Mcdermett did it at Creighton for the 5th yr point guard

Exactly Sharkey. If he goes on any type of aid , other than some federal and state grants, it counts as a ship against your numbers.
Siena has Cameron Gottfried playing for them this year. His father in NC State head coach Mark Gottfried. Certain schools will let the employee of others schools children attend school for free,... as if the parents were employed by their school. Cameron Gottfried has to pay his own way or it would count against the limiter. He could actually attend Siena for free, if the schools have a reciprocal policy regarding the dependents of employees, but since he wants to play... he has to pay.

I know plenty have done it (Billy Baron in the MAAC last year), but I could see it getting somewhat awkward playing at this level with your father as coach.
Not easy to draw the line where father and son become coach and player.

Ahmed wants to run the point like AJ.. or at least share the PG duties. I do not see that happening at St. Johns.
