where do we stand with bashir ahmed? Still recruiting him but he has offers from Arizona State and Iowa State. He wants to run the offense and that will not happen at either of those schools. He really wants to play PG/SG at 6'7".... basically wants to be AJ, just taller.

It sounds like he blew up which doesn't bode well for IONA....

Ahmed is averaging 16ppg 8rpg 2asst and 2 steals. Plenty of HM programs have seen him and are showing interest, if they have not offered yet, as they go recruit 6'7'' G Desaun Freeman for the '15 recruiting class.

This should make you bastards happy... Iona has offered Kyle Meyer, a 6'10" 222lb PF/C from Eastern Florida State College (JUCO). Rivals and Scout had him rated 3 stars. ESPN Rated him an 87. From Alpharetta, Ga., went to Iowa where he redshirted his freshman year, then saw limited action his first year of playing due to Iowa having lots of bigs. In High School he had offers from Georgia State, East Carolina and Georgia Southern. Had looks from Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana and Texas. He can knock down the jumper... even out to the three, can rebound, has good moves down in the paint and can run the court effectively. Now has offers from Tulsa, Stephen F. Austin, Georgia State, Missouri, Tennessee, WKU, and Houston. Looks Georgia, Arizona and Clemson. 86, I get it that Meyer has an 87 rating, and if we offered, the coaches must see something, but, to me, he just doesn't seem to have the 'body' for Iona style BB. Reminds me of Chris Pelcher.

Leroy Fludd still available We don't know. He committed, signed a LOI, then was still taking offers. Very strange. Why would he commit to Southeastern Louisiana over Iona? ?

I don't know about that. Laury doesn't have the "body type" for Iona either, and look at how well he has done. The key is whether the player can move and whether they have desire and skill.

@thecajasonsmith: Hearing Rhode Island, UMass, Iowa State, St. John's in mix to land Memphis transfer Kuran Iverson. URI the likely destination at this point.
