well played...... just keep in mind not everyone takes a direct route to Iona.... And lately almost no basketball players. Not so! The Iona women have added seven basketball players, and all of them have taken a “direct” route to Iona. This is a squad that all of the anti-Transfer/JUCO people should celebrate. Tony B has built his squad over the years with four year basketball players who excel in the Classroom and on the Court. However, I have yet to see a post from the anti-Transfer/JUCO faction supporting the women’s program, or touting Tony’s approach. Tony is not perfect on this score. He did deviate several years back, and brought in a two year player named Martina Weber. As far as I know, Martina excelled in the classroom and on the court to the degree that she had a “cup of coffee” in the women’s NBA.

I'm wondering if anyone reminded Cluess that he is no longer at Suffolk Community College on LI.
I've lost count of who is coming and who has gone before they even came...
No doubt in my mind that before the end of this season, half these kids will be gone for whatever reason.

Jon Rothstein @jonrothstein Tre Bowman making a strong early impression 4 Iona. 6-5 G can really shoot it. Gaels are more talented than a yr ago - will they be better?
Anyone else seem to notice that Zags no longer seems to have the inside track to Iona info and Rothstein seems to be the favored son?

Funny because it was posted on the Fordham board on how they have switched places after Zags tweeted that Fordham was still waiting on the Rhoomes decision and Rothstein was the one who tweeted about Pelle

Zags always seemed to have the scoop. Maybe I am just looking into things too much but it appears that Zags is no longer the top dog.

Maybe Rothstein got the tidbit on Bowman from the staff today after contacting them to try and get a scoop on Pelles status.

Adam Zagoria is one on the best college sports reporters in the business and has been since working for a relatively small New Jersey newspaper. Often it is who happens to be in the right place at the right time or who was on the phone at the right time that determines who breaks a story.

I think the staff knew he was too talented to pass on even if we were loaded at his position

I didn' know that JUCO kids were less moral than 4 year kids. If they help your program, mens or women's, then what's the big deal. I know a lot of people who went to community colleges and they are mostly great people. Coach Carnesecca had tons of JUCO kids and he was in the top ten, on average, every other year.
