A friend called to tell me that I've been remiss in not posting this sooner, but since his season wasn't over (just regular season), I was holding off. Jason was named as the NL, either pitcher or player of the week for W/E 9/23. H was the first reliever to garner that award since 2009. For the year he finshed with 42 saves and four wins, having a hand in 46 out of 88 Cardinal victories. Since, I believe (not sure) he's eligible for FA nexy year, but if he is, I would think he'd be in for a big raise over his $2M salary. All in all a great year.

Another WOW performance by Jason. His two inning save, and pitching before 52K+, screaming, unruly fans, was the stuff that dreams (his) are made of. In only two years as a closer, he's already accrued six saves. Congrats, again.

Pitched the eighth and nineth innings, giving up a run but earning the win in what is being described as an epic victory. He also earned a lot of face time on ESPN. I think it's accurate to say Jason is now one of the top closers in the game.

The Cardinals have reached a two year contract deal with Jason. Terms have not been disclosed, but indications are that it is in the $10M+ range. Congrats to Jason AND the Cards.
