Just hope he has a better Financial Advisor than I have.

Certainly we all rooted for Willard and staff, but had he stuck it out at Iona a little longer, he would have landed at a better program than Seton Hall, which has no chance of success in the Big East. Catholic 7, maybe. Making that jump today makes sense. It didn't a few years ago.

We all get what we deserve. He never seemed fully enthusiastic to be here.

Seton Hall will hold onto Willard for quite some time. Minus the BE TV money, or the new C7 money, Iona is probably in a better financial position to compete in those leagues than the Pirates. There are many limitations there that their BOD are aware of, and don't hold Willard accountable for these limitations.

ichoops, surprise, but I disagree with you. I always found KW as a very nice guy. Granted he is somewhat reserved, but I, for one, don't hold it against him for trying to better himself and his family. At SH he's in a tough situation, but it doesn't take many good players to turn a program around. Not like football.

Willard did a good job of recruiting for Iona. As others stated, he may have been premature in his decision to leave.

The wheels are coming off for Willard, and he has nobody to blame but himself..He has a dour do it my way or the highway disposition. His reputation has hurt his recruiting..In his short stay at Iona was one of the most aloof ever...He made no effort to bring together any gap that was developing between himself the team and the fan base...At IONA it was also the beginning of the ''silent'' period. He no longer is a ''rookie'' coach. Unless it is to late to change he should learn to laugh, communicate and enjoy life..It will serve him well...........At times there appears to be a lot of similarities between our last two coaches...Am I to harsh...you get that with age.

Kinda funny that they seem to be longing for the good old days of Bobby Gonzalez

I believe he was enthusiastic, he just doesn't have the personality to show it outwardly.

I liked KW. Always came across to me as a regular guy and never spoke basketball to me in a condescending, know-it all type way. Dan McHale and Shaheen Hollaway were also two very good guys.
Opportunity knocked for him. I can't begrudge him answering the door - as it may never knock again.
I wish KW the best and hope things get better for his program.
I think we as fans forget that coaches and players are temporary while us fans are permanent. Big difference.
