Guy, tell your friend, MTS, that his snide post did not go 'un-noticed'. Talk about being ungrateful, as many on this board, myself included, have come to his defense in the past. As far as I can remember, Iona has received only ONE hardship waiver in recent years, but I may be forgetting someone.
That is why we missed you and your ability to deduct what is implied. I hope I did not raise expectations by describing Dublin as space eater...I do however expect him to be valuable front court player who will play with a chip on his last year shoulder, and possibly be a pleasant surprise.....A inspection of his past performances will show he performs best against the better teams.

Nikola Vujovic, a 6'8" forward that had committed to Monmouth got through the NCAA clearinghouse but admissions has rejected him due to his TOEFL score. The kid is now available.

Iona is and has been for the past 4 years a high scoring offensive team...Its recruitment policies have been oriented to that type player...The few times that it has wandered from that type player has not worked well, not because the recruit was not a above average player, but because the recruit was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole... Any change to the Cluess type mold deters from its efficiency and slows down its tempo, and we become a team that finds its lower level... There is little doubt IMO that this type necessary selectivity has slowed down the recruitment process and has eliminated the type player that does not fit the Iona plan that recruits by need and not by reputation that has given us 4 years of exciting and top flight hoops that has brought National attention to Iona basketball..... Patience will bring another rewarding and exciting year....

Taylor Bessick visits next week.
Very interesting name GUY...Highly rated as a Freshman at JMU... Grew dissatisfied in his Soph. year at the way he was being used...He wanted to be more of a offensive free lance forward, they wanted him as a back to the basket defensive type player... At 6-9 and a good rebounder would seem a good fit for Cluess style.....

Bessick wouldn't be available until 2015, no?
CJB......As I understand....Sit out a year or he could play as a JUCO for a year 2014--2015 then still have 2 years left...JMU tried to get him to stay but he was adamant about their style not suiting him.... A year at the right Juco, might make him a valuable commodity for next year...

I was on campus, today, and saw a big kid (about 6'9, 235) being given a tour of the athletic facilities. Have no idea if it was Bessick or if he's any good, but I do know he's BIG, tall and broad. Still no Greek kid, at least on the court, and no Sledge. Daniel Robinson and Kelvin Amayo, there but not playing. I can't make it tomorrow, but understand guys will be playing, starting around noon, so maybe OT can make it.
