So we lost guys to bigger schools. This is disastrous. Never said it was disastrous. Just that it was a tough run compared to previous years, but that we'll bounce back. Also wouldn't exactly classify Jaspers, UNF or academics as bigger schools. You don't know why Lawrence picked Manhattan. I do. Let me say now it had NOTHING to do with hoops. Ahmed will end up at a bigger school. UNF is comparable in size, and it is in Florida. Nuff said.

I know the Lawrence story too. Understand there are explanations behind all of the misses. Bottom line is that all that matters at the end of the day is results. And for once we came up a little short in that category. Not worried about it long term. Win some lose some. This offseason we just lost more than usual.

Do we offer Jerome Frink and have him sit a year or hold the scholarship for a mid year transfer or next recruiting cycle?
What do you Frink?
Iona86 So we are not so far hitting the target on the recruiting trail, but lets not fall into the ''Lets get a body'' mode. In researching Frink, he at the most is a middle of the pack another 6-6 player. If we can't do better this year. I rather we forget about it, and wait until next year when prospects will be refreshed.... It will open up more opportunity for our biggies, who should be about ready to develop their worth and possible be a answer to what we are searching for.

Disappointing? Yes.
But not as disappointing if this was a 6'9" PF like Randall going to Pitt last year (who by the way averaged only a little over 8 minutes a game last year).
We have plenty of talent at the wing, who knows how well a fifth year senior would mesh.
I wish him all the best at BC, which from the sounds of it is a young rebuilding squad. In that type of environment he'll more likely be able to call the shots.
Too bad we missed out, but the glass is still half full.

Good point. I guess losing Brown stings the most because the chance to land a solid recruit this late in the game and beating out BCS programs would have a been a shot in the arm. Kudos to TC and staff for the battle and coming so close to getting him. I think sometimes we forget how hard the staff works on recruiting, and they are probably more frustrated than the fans are.
At this point I prefer to hold the scholarship instead of making an offer to Frink, though I am surprised he has not committed to another program yet. While we didn't get the BCS transfer or Juco this year I think this class will be solid in the future, just have to give it a year to develop. Bessick is probably one of the best "bigs" recruited in the MAAC this year and I really like Bebis, Casimir and what I hear of Muhhamad.
Manhattan and Qpac had really good recruiting classes this year, but I still like our chances.

Not getting Brown to me is a good news/bad news story. First the good news: *We were in the hunt with schools that we probably had no right to be competing against, which is a tribute to TC and his staff. Was he just too good to pass up the opportunity to not go after? Now the bad news: *The staff thought that we need another mid-size SF/OG. Is this an indication that Kelvin's medical situation is still an issue?

Took a quick look at BC site. They already have 14 players listed on their roster. Also peeked at their OOC schedule since I always thought they were a logical opponent. They play 3 games in Puerto Rico, 1 @ UMass, and the remaining 8 at home.

If I were going to spend a year in Southern Idaho, I'd have second thoughts. Sign him up!!!

LOL... if he ends up in NewRoc or Iowa we win. If he goes to Fran we can use this as proof of how dirty St. Fran is to the Siena fans.

Notes ref. Leroy 'Truck' Fludd... Played at India Hills Jr. College...Odd....while searching their site noticed that our recruit from Chec. Rep. Europe is listed on their 2014-15 team roster... He last year made it a point to improve his outside game, which has shown in after season tournaments vast improvement... The name 'Truck' comes from his 6-6 body ability in High School to move defensive players around while rebounding... Found 'Tweeks' where he was being recruited by many colleges most of which were located out west... One though stated that he was now also drawing interest from a Eastern seaboard team...
