And speaking of former Mt. Vernon players, Isaiah Cousins had 19 points for Oklahoma, last night, against SH.

The Patriots are a VG team. They have an excellent backcourt, with good size, 6-3, 6-4, for a mid-major. Wright is a very good player, playing at home. They've got a couple of huge 6-8 guys, but one of them I believe is out, Aldredge? All in all I expect this to be a dog fight, especially with Tavon out. Would've like to really speed these guys up.

this is an A10 program. They are coached by Paul Hewitt. The same program that went to the Final Four in 07! It would be a huge win. Maybe for St. John's, but it would be a good win four Iona I'm seeing lines from -3.5 to -5.5. Kind of a gutsy play would be trying to middle the game, hoping for a 4 or 5 point Iona win and collect both ways. Glad I don't gamble on sports anymore! ?

Jeff Goodman@goodmanespn2h Iona's 6-foot-9, 255-pound junior David Laury is an impressive kid to watch. Strong, powerful and skilled. Gaels up 42-16 on George Mason.

Good crowd. Iona totally dominated the game and shared the ball well. We seem to be using a lot more half court sets than last year. Burning up a lot more clock when in the lead. Jumped out to a 16-1 lead when GM couldn't put the ball in the ocean. A lot more good defensive efforts than previously. Solid effort from whole team.

nice crowd, The GA side was pretty crowded. Weird seeing the benches move sides. But I think the students might actually be less of a distraction than all the other people who seem to crowd the bench on the other side.
Laury and English were the story of the first half when Iona built and maintained their lead. Nice to see English's scoring ability, and he ran the offense adequately. Armand was doing a lot of little things in the first half, his scoring clinic didnt really begin until the second half. Great overall game. While Hines didn't score, he did make several intelligent plays.

Thanks for all the game recaps. Sounds like Cluess has this team playing well and heading in the right direction.
