Spent a ton of time eating there back in the day. I survived with a buddy of mine on the $2 bologna wedge special when money was tight. One of my funniest moments at Iona was when tony varnished the wood panel walls on the first warm day in spring. They left the doors open so the smell would not be overwhelming and hundreds of flies got stuck to the wall. Sad day as it had been part of Iona since 1977.

...anyone here remember the Yellow Submarine Sandwich Shop? It was located where the Iona 9/11 memorial is now. When we had some extra money it was the place of choice along with the diner.

I do remember the Yellow sub. But I loved Tony. Great guy who really looked after the students. Great pizza too.
