Best wishes to everyone and safe travelling to those who have to travel. Hopefully you get the chance to be with family and enjoy a few moments away from the daily grind. Looking forward to my family coming into town. I asked Santa to bring a little magic and cheer to the Iona players and coaches. Hoping they can enjoy the game they love and have fun together this holiday season. A heartfelt thank you to the team for the enjoyment you bring us.

oldtimer, time to spin us a Christmas tale...quote...CJB...Merry Christmas.
Funny you asked, it brought back memories of a Christmas Eve that I will never forget.......
It was Christmas Eve...I had just been promoted to Corporal, and was given a 8 man squad...Having finished our Amphibious training we were waiting for our very large convoy to form...To keep us busy we were assigned to protect a very large ammunition Depot back in the mountains of Kauai a remote Island of the Hawaiian chain....We were to assist the Army force stationed there. We manned several of the watch towers that protected the front, from which gave a clear view for several miles...We observed 2 early 1930's Station wagon/truck type vehicles approaching up the mountain road...They stopped at the outside gate, and after a brief conversation with the Army Guards were allowed in...We watched, when out of the first vehicle out popped SANTA CLAUS with a loud ''Ho Ho Merry Christmas to all''...The lights went on all over the compound and the loudspeakers blared X MASS music...Provided we left a man in the towers we were all invited down to the vehicles for hot coffee and donuts which soon morphed into all joining into the singing along with the records of Bing Crosby's ''White Christmas'' ''I'll be home for Christmas'' and ''Silent Night''
Yes Virginia, I know there Is a Santa Claus, I saw him pop out of a old Station wagon when he paid a visit to bunch of home sick troops......
Note.....Santa and the donuts were provided by the Islands Salvation Army', and Santa was their posts commander...It was all planned with the cooperation of the ARMY'S Comm. Officer.
