Too bad, wish him well. I have no idea of his personal situation and do have compassion but his it appears his track record is mighty suspect and I hope he is able to get an education somewhere so he can earn a better living. If he does leave and some other school in D-1 accepts him as a transfer he is in a grey area as far as eligibility is concerned. Here is the problem, since initially went to Marshal for a year starting his 5 year NCAA clock running - even though he did not play, that counts as year #1 to the NCAA. He then transferred to the JC in Florida for year # 2, then year #3 to Iona, for one semester. If I am correct in assuming he has to sit out a year, whereever he goes in D-1 which will be year #4 before thus having .5 years left to play unless he gets a waiver for a final year? Good luck to any D-1 school who accepts him with this track record, jump shot or not!

The way its been said it that he left for personal reasons, ie; family. so with that in mind I wish IW the best, he's been through probably more than some of us have been through as adults at such a young age. if he was a bone-head, my thoughts would be vacant but since it seems personal, I hope he lands on his feet. good luck IW.

I probably will be described as an old curmudgeon who lacks compassion...I will freely admit that present life has made me an curmudgeon, but I try hard and have never been accused of lacking compassion... Making excuses for the behavior of 20 year olds is one of the big generation gaps between the years of the ''Greatest Generation'' and todays...I rave when 26 year olds are still being covered by their parents insurance, and there is a lobby to extend that...We send millions of children who should never be there to college, and it will not to far distance until the loan money to send them will be asked to be forgiven because it is to big of a burden for them to carry...That type of thought process can lead no where, but to a dependency, and eventually the downfall of the nation...It will work fine until we run out of other peoples money...
I no not of I. Williams situation, but am very jaundice of what brought it about, and feel strongly he mainly alone can learn to deal with it, and we the present generation was in part responsible...
I worry, oh how I worry about the future of the country I love...My wife tells me let others who led us down this path figure it out...My one wish is that in the future my skepticism will be remembered for how wrong I was.....

Isaiah still listed on roster for Fairfield Game Notes (1/10/2014), with the notation that he has missed six games due to personal issues. Maybe Isaiah will rejoin the Gaels at some point. In the meantime, I wish him well in working through whatever he needs to. Let's hope the good news is that the young man is dealing with it, and is not overwhelmed. Back or not, best to you Isaiah.

Isaiah Williams welcome back! This team needs you as much as you need them. Great to have you back on the court with the Gaels. There are many others here on this board and at Iona that are pulling for you. Hoping the best for you. Let's get this done and finish strong.

How does posting to this board effect this kid in anyway. It doesn't. Very dramatic post though!

You know its funny. I caught the end of Cluess's comments before the game and I didn't get the sense IW was gone for good. Just figured I missed something.

There are few teams in the history of sport that were more verbally abused, but more loved then the Brooklyn Dodgers...That is the nature of the beast...................
