Beamon is being examined this morning. Nothing confirmed yet, but some people in Jasper land seem to think he hurt his shoulder pretty bad and are speculating that he could be out 3-5 weeks. I wanted to take down the Jaspers as badly as anyone this year, but this isn't how I wanted it to go down. Hope the kid is not out too long.

Guy, could get interesting as we are "toast" at times.

Beamon might be as soft as butter, but Jasper fans say that he's also as smooth as butter. In the short term this will hurt the Jaspers, but it might help them in the long term. Others will have the opportunity to step up and get more PT. Last night I saw Pankney step up and was tough to defend inside, and while Alvarado took over, I felt he forced things at times. But they'll have time to work things out. W/o Beamon, Manhattan can beat (not saying they will) any MAAC team, and if he ever comes back they'll get a big boost. We have to play a lot better to be a contender. And TC has to settle on a PG. Rumor has it that Gomez' lack of PT is because he was seen kicking the coach's dog (smiley face).

Supposedly Manhattan is targeting the road game against us as the goal for Beamon's return.

Pankey looked tough last night. Having watched a couple of Manhattan games and a couple of Quinni games, I still think overall we have the better talent. But as Monday night demonstrated, we will have to prove that on the court.

Manhattan is deep with a good bench; they nearly beat a tough Quinny squad last night without any points from Beamon. Also, they are used to playing without him, witness last season when they only had him for about 6 games or so. They were able to adapt then and win consistently, and they will again.

IC59........At one time I could spot innuendo's and figure them out quickly, but now I need help.......As to your posts last line ref. Gomez and Coaches dog... 1......Was it intended as sarcastic humor? 2......Was it a clue to a general situation? 3......Was there any truth to it? 4......Have I become completely gullible?

Mike Alvarado had 33 points, yesterday, and will probably get or share the MAAC POW award with Baron. If he doesn't it will be because he missed 10 free throws and the Jaspers lost. Baron won two games and English (long shot) went 2-1. It will be interesting to see if Alvarado's scoring takes away from his PG play.

FYI, Beamon expected to practice tomorrow and looks like he'll return sooner than expected, perhaps for the Rider game on Jan 24.
