IMO, winning the MAAC regular season championship this year is FANTASTIC. What a great job by Cluess, the staff, and the guys to get this done. This was a year where we thought we might have to rebuild somewhat. A lot of new pieces. Mike Poole was great. IW can't say enough about how this guy played and what he means to the Team. AJ emerged as a star. Sean emerged as an unselfish leader. Laury picked up his effort and accepted coming off the bench. Bowman, Tavon, battled through injuries and gave a lot. A couple of games Bowman carried us on his back. Robinson and Hines were revelations and will only improve. Gomez contributed meaningful minutes. The guys share the ball and the credit. For me this team has had a successful season and anything else it does is gravy. Stress free for me the rest of the way. Congrats to the guys!!!!!

The MAAC tourney could be crazy this year. Hopefully, Iona can navigate the bracket and bring home the bid. If we are fortunate to win 3 conference tourney games, this gives us our most realistic chance of winning a March madness game since 1998.

Java, I thought we also had a great shot in 2001 vs Ole Miss--when Jenkins broke his hand early in the game.

I believe it was Courtney Fields who was driving through the lane with a few seconds left and he clearly got hacked, with NO call. Vern Lundquist sure thought it was a foul that was not called. Frustrating moment for a Gael fan.

I am sure that Coach Cluess and staff are not celebrating. A lot of unfinished business. One game at a time. We can reflect back after everything is done. Let's play hard and put on a show for the recruits. Show them and everyone else this team can play and win! Not done yet. Do not lose focus. GO GAELS!

Congrats to Coach Cluess and the entire staff!

My sentiment is one fan's satisfaction with the season. But it doesn't really matter what I think. The Coaching Staff and the guys have their own standard for what will be a successful season. Whatever it is, I hope they reachit. I'm just along for the ride and will enjoy watching them going forward.

Hats off to TC and staff for this season. No matter what happens in Springfield this was the most successful MAAC conf season in Iona history. For some reason that's not being publicized as much as it should. The most successful MAAC conf season in Iona history. Pretty impressive.

Manhattan seems to be getting all the ink and publicity after Fri nite's OT thriller. Good. The more pub for them the greater the pressure on them. Is it just me or does Coach Mass on the sidelines remind anyone else of Mussolini when he was standing on that balcony in Rome before WW 2 after one of his emotional speeches with his arms folded and that arrogant look on his face? Not saying that Coach Mass is a bad person at all but he's a dead ringer to me.

Hats off to TC and staff for this season. No matter what happens in Springfield this was the most successful MAAC conf season in Iona history. For some reason that's not being publicized as much as it should. The most successful MAAC conf season in Iona history. Pretty impressive. Iona05 I was thinking the same thing, this is a big accomplishment and not just a fluke, the league is decent this year, and not many have said much about this. I think since the beginning of the second half of the Canisius home game team this has become a very, very good basketball team, one of the best in Iona history, an offensive machine. It should win the Maac tourney like it did the regular season simply because it is the best team. Even being the clear best team, which I think we are, we have to avoid obstacles that are there that could knock off a very good team like Iona: They include an off night from 3 from everyone major foul trouble involving Laury and at least one other A crazy one night performance from Baron an amazing hot 3 point shooting night from someone like Rider a major injury or suspension A terrible night from the foul line, likely involving Laury A game where we come unmotivated to play d or rebound-which I can't see in the tourney So even though I think we are the favorite there are a lot of obstacles to avoid in order to win this thing. As I have stated I am going on record saying we will win an NCAA game should we get in, even though a lot has to do with the matchup we get. Want to avoid athletic size and/or a very good coach that never loses a first round game like Izzo.

I watched the Manhattan game a second time on ESPN. What a game! If it comes to it, I thnk AJ will be ready for the double team in round 3. David may have to mix in more baby hooks and pull-up 6 footers on his moves to the hoop. People talk about this or that guy being out for other teams. I keep seeing Daniel Robinson trailing one of our drivers to the hoop for pass-offs and put backs, especially when the D collapses on DL. Daniel was starting to show that move when he got injured.
