Crazy half. Build a 22 point lead; miss a few shots in a row, then turn it over a bunch of times, and its 45-41. We were doing a good job on offense sharing the ball early, then when Rider makes a run everyone turns hero and tries to go one on one and take over the game. Just keep making the extra pass.

AJ terrible handing pressure second game in a row. At this point I hate seeing him as the primary ball handler against pressure. Sloppy passes, and he gets trapped regularly. Hope Cluess straightens him out or uses someone else to bring the ball up.

He's not making good decisions. He's still learning. Once teams make runs against us like this it seems no one steps up and says "We got away from what we do. We need to play our game." And keep sharing the ball on offense and make the extra pass. Guys want to step up, which is good, but you can't do it going one on three and forcing a shot.

I have to admit that IC59 was on the money. AJ losing more confidence with the ball every minute.

Cluess made all the right adjustments, especially getting AJ out of the role of primary ball handler against pressure. AJ will get better at recognizing the double team and making good decisions against pressure, but for the MAAC tourney we can't have AJ handle the ball against pressure D. He's great on the break though.
Nice recovery by the team and the staff. Poole's game has really grown on me and I appreciate all that he does. Great group of seniors, especially Sean and Tre.
IW is going to be a huge star in this conference.

Way to right the ship after letting Rider back in the game.
I want SA, the seniors, and this team to get back to The Dance. Seeing Sean tear up at the ceremony had me tear up, too. I am glad that they finished the regular season with a "W".
So, we get either Rider or Monmouth on Saturday. Best wishes to the team in defending its title. iona05, you MUST start the game threads.
Go Gaels!!!

Good job today to finish the season on a high note and let the seniors end their Hynes careers with a win. Was prating for Armand to get the triple double, finished just 1 rebound and assist short. Congrats and thanks to the SRS. for a very enjoyable regular season and hopefully a great March ahead of us. Have to say love watching this team play together after a rough start to the season. Looking forward it looks like either Rider or Monmouth next Saturday. TC and staff did a great job this year and has the program in position for another big season next year also. ic1983 I agree IW is going to be a POY candidate next year along with AJ and DL. Thanks Gaels for a great and entertaining season and keep it going!!

Great game by Sean, emotional to see him so moved at ceremony.
As for game it was a strange one, up 21, blow lead and still win big.
Here comes 3 (hopefully) nervewracking games, need to play well in all 3 to do it.

I've known Giorgis for 30 years. He's running the same stuff he did at Lourdes when I was covering him winning Section 1 titles by 30 pts.

Accomplished the two most important things in today's game. Got the win and avoided injuries. Some thoughts from the game:
1. Great job by the staff with the pre-game ceremony for the seniors. Was awesome to see how moved Sean was by the reception from the crowd, which in large part, was all on their feet and cheering for him.
2. Tre seems to be peaking at the right time and blossoming into a leader. Great to see him being more assertive on the floor. We'll definitely need it in Springfield.
3. Despite a few shaky spots handling the press, AJ was terrific today and had a great bounceback game after Friday's performance. Just what he needed heading into the conf tourney.
4. Probably Sean's best all-around performance of the season, and that's saying a lot.
5. DL3's early foul trouble was the big reason that Rider was able to climb back into the game. When he's out of the game we are a totally different team. Going to need him to stay out of early foul trouble to make it out of Springfield with a trophy.
6. Hopefully we make it out of Springfield with an NCAA bid, but if for some reason we come up short, I understand that we have a March 18th date slated for a potential home game in the NIT.
7. Point distribution was ideal with 6 players in double figures and every single one of them shooting above 50% from the field.
8. Rider has some kids who can knock down a three. They can give us fits in the QF game if we don't bring our A game, especially now with the benefit of having played us twice in two weeks.
9. IW with another stat stuffing performance. Only thing that is a bit disappointing is that he didn't get to the foul line. Would like to see him be more aggressive slashing to the rim, especially with Rider's big man in foul trouble.
10. Another scrappy rebounding job by the guys today. The most impressive part is that DL3 only played 17 mins and we still managed to outrebound Rider. A clear sign that our intensity and effort on the boards has improved leaps and bounds from early season.
Now it's time for Springfield. Been a memorable season already. Let's hope we still have some more memories on the way. Go Gaels!!!
