I hate to see the Big East in it's current configuration. Should not have been allowed to retain name. Looks more like "The Big Least". Not sure what was involved with St. John's number 1. They may have talent, but they need heart. Potential is meaningless, results matter. Lavin has to be nearing the end of his tenure at St Johns. You can not keep selling we are almost there when there appears to be little forward progress. At some point you can not fault the players. The Head Coach has to be accountable. Player ranking, etc. are over emphasized during recruiting process. Need to find players who can play hard, be coached and have basketball IQ. Coach Cluess and staff have found those players pretty consistently. Iona Gaels go represent in LA, get a win tonight.

Very embarrassing loss for St. J. Doesn't help their image at all.

I like Lavin and am not really a St. John's hater, but I do admit that this season would have to be considered a big dissapointment. Lavin is the man in charge and should be held accoutable. Personally, I would like to see him stay on at least 1 more year to see if he can right the ship, but I would also understand if he were to let go.

La tech blowing out Georgia early, I believe they are the best team in the NIT.

La tech blowing out Georgia early, I believe they are the best team in the NIT. Georgia coach Mark Fox had the same expression as Coach Cluess after the early turnovers and run. The difference, we answered right back. This is an awful matchup for UGA.

la tech 27-8 11 minutes left 1st half OT hope you are watching they play defense!!! 5th in country in steals 6th in country defense points per possession 7th in forcing t/o's coach lets them run as long as they play defense

I am convinced the best 2 teams in the nit met in the first round: la tech vs Iona was the nit championship, both would have won NCAA games unless they were matched up with Louisville or mich st.

39-13 LA Tech is blowing out Georgia, this is a testament to how good of a team we were this year.

Speaking of passing the eye test- did any of the committee see la tech and they beat Oklahoma? Too much emphasis is put on rpi ratings when it works against mid majors and when they have good rpis like Toledo they use their few wins against top 50 against them even though no top 50 will play schools like us.

greg, not saying that but open your eyes, they play defense a lot better than us!!! just because you like what the team is doing, doesn't mean we can't improve, guy says it all the time, defense is what gives you a chance for upsets of teams better than you, but you never criticize him for that. All i am saying after 4 yrs we need to adjust a little to improve
