for all our success this yr how did we do out of conf? our best win ooc was against fgcu rpi 146, we lost to all 6 teams with better rpi's and i do understand we shouldn't have beaten kansas or dayton but the other games were winnable

We were not anywhere near as good of a team in December as we were in late January, everything changed when IW came back and Laury came off the bench. That team would have gone 6-3 not 3-6 in ooc.
La tech lost the third game in 3 days in their tourney and so did we, I think when you play as fast as both of these teams do it is very difficult to play well in the third game, the strength of our teams are taken away from the fatigue of 3 games in 3 days, and that is why we both lost.
joe, i agree with that, but that is why we need to play more than 6 guys, there was no need on saturday for 5 guys to play 35 minutes, even if just sledge would have played more, but hines could have let laury not play 30 minutes plus, we shouldn't have rested everyone at the same time, but we could have given everyone a few minutes ea at different times in the second half

Bonaventure was inexcusable since it was home. The rest were all road games. Never easy to win on the road. Couple that with not having IW and it's easy to see why we struggled in those games.

Agree with this. If I have a gripe with Cluess this season, it's shutting down the bench too much. Not saying we should have been doing hockey shifts like Manhattan, but we could have played 10 guys and not 6-7.

Agreed. I will give this to 70. The bar has been set high now, and the expectations for next year should be that we're going to squeeze out a win or two in a solid but winnable OOC matchup, which is something that could've made the difference in an at large this year.

I agree, Gomez too, but I think baron scared the crap out of Cluess and he wanted to make sure they didn't blow the game, which they almost did. Also Iona's top 6 were so strong Cluess was spoiled with them, but he has to try to get his best players less minutes next year in the early rounds of the maac tourney.

Guy, a 10 man rotation. What roster are you looking at? Maybe 8 at best. Perhaps you're confusing our roster for the Nets? :-)

I guess we are all in agreement here. No doubt. And I do think they need to make improvements on Defense. Not to make excuses, but I think the injuries did affect the plan they had going into the season, so they reverted to what has worked for them. That didn't help the defense/
Meanwhile La. Tech is making this game look a little like BYU - Iona.

Iona crushed Rider on Saturday. The starters should have played 10 minutes in the second half, tops.

greg, not saying that but open your eyes, they play defense a lot better than us!!! just because you like what the team is doing, doesn't mean we can't improve, guy says it all the time, defense is what gives you a chance for upsets of teams better than you, but you never criticize him for that. All i am saying after 4 yrs we need to adjust a little to improve
I have to agree with this. I think they are a good blueprint of what we want to be. Up tempo, but still rebound well and play defense.
