Sorry guys... It is St Paddy's day weekend so I have been a bit busy.
First kudo's to dantef17 who first mentioned Schadrac Casimir as a potential target.
Schadrac Casimir - 5'10" PG - Averaged 25.7 points and 5 apg , 3 spg, shooting 42% from the three-point line, and 90% from the line his senior year at Trinity Catholic. All-State first team selection and CT High School Player of the year voted by CT coaches. Fnished his Trinity Catholic High career as the programs fifth all-time leading scorer as well as setting a single-season scoring record with 772 points his last year. Went to South Kent for a post graduate year where he tore it up against the best competition in the country. He was under recruited due to his height (some sites list him at 5'8". In fact South Kent head coach Kelvin Jefferson said “Schadrac is probably the most underrated player I’ve ever had... he’s been asked over and over to prove himself and he has never disappointed. Unfortunately most coaches only evaluate him on his size. Schadrac may be the best sub-six foot player in the league, He is a high-major scorer and very underrated passer and defender. A great team guy.” He had interest from Monmouth, St. Johns, Jacksonville, Fairfield, Sacred Heart, Central CT, Binghamton, Stonybrook, Manhattan, Temple, Fordham, LIU, Va Tech, Canisius, Iona, Quinnipiac,Towson, Seton Hall, Rider, Cal State Santa Barbara and UMass Lowell and had offers from Sacred Heart, Iona, Umass Lowell, Cal State Santa Barbara and Toledo.
He’s averaging 17 points per game this season for South Kent along with over 3 assists and 2 steals while shooting 43% from the floor. He had 36 points against Brewster Academy at the National Prep Showcase, matched that total against Northfield Mount Hermon, and went for 32 against St. Thomas More. He ate Isaiaih Whitehead for breakfast in AAU last summer.
He will be one of the quickest PG's in the MAAC if not the quickest. He is very athletic, is a good defender, playmaker and can shoot the three with the best of them. He has a high hoops IQ. Perfect fit for Cluess system. If he was three inches taller he would be playing at Syracuse or UCONN.
Here is a review of his play at the National Prep Showacase: "Schadrac Casimer, 5’9, PG, South Kent (CT), 2014- The crowd favorite of the event was undoubtedly Schadrac Casimir, who put on a show for the 20-plus in attendance that came out to see him play. Every time that the speedy guard would get the ball, you’d have people standing up and rightfully so—since he did hang 36 points on Brewster. Casimir simply scored the ball with ease, whether it be via deep jumpers or tough takes to the lane. With an offer on the table from Sacred Heart, expect more programs to enter the picture by the time the late signing period rolls around."

Kid looks good. Tavon do not read this.
A few quick notes from this synopsis:
1. He could of never got recruited from Cal State Santa Barbara because that school doesn't exist. Now if it was UC Santa Barbara than I can see that haha just messing with you.
2. I like his game but I don't see the electrifying speed like the reports say. I would have to say tavon is a lot quicker from those videos.
3. Hands down he can score, his jumper is good and he creates his own shot.
4. Assist average is a little low for a point guard, at South Kent prep he only averaged 3 assists a game which is something that worries me. We have Amayo,IW,DL and AJ that can score but we need someone to distribute it around. Seems to me that he is a scoring PG which isn't horrible because I like it but instead of always looking for his own shot I would like IW or AJ shooting.
Overall, I like the commitment and the potential. He can score which is important and in our system that is key. I do wish that when he gets here, he becomes more of a pass first point guard who can handle the pressure. I see his game mirror more of a MOMO jones shoot first mentality instead of a Scott M. game which was pass first. If he can distribute it better and get 5-6 assist a game I will be a happy camper. Overall I like the signing and see a bright future in this kid. One thing TC knows how to do is develop PG's and SG's. This kid has a lot of talent and can't wait to see his game grow.
gordan, I agree that his assist average is low for a PG. However, when he got to South Kent, I think his goal was to show DIV I coaches that he could score against bigger/better players.

Congrats to Cedric and the Gaels! I have had the pleasure of knowing this young man for several years, two of my boys played with him for years and he is an outstanding person and basketball player. He is a very dedicated, hard working young man. He is fortunate to be surrounded by his family, which I know includes his friend, mentor and coach Troy Bradford, who happens to be one of the greatest under 6 footers to ever play in the MAAC. When few D-1 programs came knocking after high school, team Cedric found the right Prep school program which along with his AAU performances opened several doors for the speedy guard. His AAU and Prep school coaches gave him the opportunity to really develop and improve his skills, which he did. I am glad Timmy recognized his potential, he is a winner! Gael fans you will love Cedric's shifty moves and his uncanny ability to score or find the open man, despite being guarded by players six inches taller.
His ability to open up the offense with his outside shooting will be a help overall.
Regarding his APG... I would not worry as Kent also had Freshman Tremont Waters (high major recruit) who shared PG duties.
As for Cal State Santa Barbara ...LOL.... I just cut and paste the offers. Maybe the State of California was willing to open a new school for him to showcase his skills.
I think he is a very good pickup with a ton of upside. I do not expect him to see major minutes as a freshman.

Haha I was only messing around with the Cal State comment, Also I totally forgot about his counterpart Tremont Waters. I can now understand the scoring aspect of his game. I also agree he has a ton of upside but I do see him learning a lot and getting very little time as a freshman.

From what I see in the video, this kid really gets shis shot off quickly and in traffic. He can spread the D, and take it off the dribble. Not worried about his assists. The kid can pass, and he will enjoy sharing the ball to see the floor in TC's system. What I really like is the endorsement from hurtinturkey. The young man sounds like a worthy successor to the Sean Armands of Iona.
Iona86, do you have any idea how he compares to Tyler Ulis, the 5'9" point headed to Kentucky. Ulis has been getting tons of raves. I haven't seen either one play.
I like that he will be practicing with the team in a few quick months--so we should know soon just how good he is.........im hoping for another Bryce cotton.....could happen

I think Tyler Ulis has a quicker initial first step. He also handles the ball as well as anyone in the country and can use either hand equally well. Ulis is a true pass first PG. Both have similar range but I think Casimir is more consistent shooting the three where Ulis is more of as streaky 3 ball shooter. Ulis drives and dishes the rock to his teammates for easy dunks. Maybe Casimir will develop the same style when he plays with athletic players such as Shackquiel Scott and IW.
What sets Tyler Ulis apart from most point guards is his crossover back step which either freezes defenders or has them fall on their ass. He has great body control driving to the hoop and great hesitation moves that combined with his quickness open up his game.
