Greg.....Could it be that the reason it is hard to keep a college basketball team consistently good, is particularly in Iona's case, because it is so easy to keep a unaccountable team so bad...
Iona's basketball program is a disgrace pure and simple...How Iona's Basketball program can be run so stringent and with such success, as opposed to its shoddy Baseball program is a riddle waiting to be exposed...and all thing cannot always be blamed financially...

Fair point, I don't disagree. I'm just saying I would hate to see the program go away simply because we have not been able to compete. The women's basketball program was horrible for many years and they found a way to turn it around. No reason it can't happen with baseball.

The women's basketball program was horribel for many years and they found a way to turn it around. No reason it can't happen with baseball. It would be a very upsetting situation to see Iona's baseball program dissolve but if they continue this downward spiral I would get rid of it. It's as simple as this, I feel the AD has given up on the program. To have the same coach leading this program is a joke. Any real AD would look at his performance after the first 3 years and would've never extended his contract. You need someone who is young and willing to put the time in and coach. He's taken this program and has driven it into the ground over the last 6 years, it might not be his intent but his structure and plan has not worked. I'm very disappointed in the baseball team as you can tell and where it has gone. How do you go from having 9 draft picks in 2 years(When Jason Motte was on the team) and 3 or 4 other kids play independent ball to having 1 drafted player in the last 6 years. I don't want the program to be booted but I want to make some noise so the AD will actually do something to help the program!!

Our current one is definitely going to hold coaches accountable.
