Speaking about recruiting for next season, is there any word on KA's waiver request? If he's not coming back and if CC's health is uncertain, I would think that we'd need a PG addition for next year. Might explain the interest in Rousseau. My question to 86, of all our targeted recruits (PG), which one would you hope we get? And speaking of former recruits, one we didn't get, Mike Nzei, one of 86's favorites, finally got a start for SH and put up nice numbers. I was hoping that he'd become disillusioned over lack of PT and transfer to New Ro. We need at least one PG with Ibn graduating. There is another PG that we are recruiting out of JUCO that I am not at liberty to discuss because his recruitment has not become "public" through the media. My info was not leaked by anyone related to the team but from an outside source. The PG (can also play SG) is also being recruited by a couple of other very good programs including one that is on our OOC schedule and I believe them to be our biggest competition for his services. He would be my first choice for a few reasons... he is a very good player... BCS level, would fit our system and he would also potentially help bring one of his best buddies to New Rochelle who would be an excellent replacement for IW. As for the high school seniors we are recruiting... Devonte Green is the one I would love to see in a Gael uniform but I also like Clive Allen out of Hayes. Mike Nzei was one of my favorites... I was hoping for the same thing 59. His 13 points and 12 rebounds in 31 minutes was a nice outing.

And speaking of point guards, I just watched our home game with Monmouth, from last year, which we won by one point. Robinson who had 25 against us in their home game, had 24 at our place. And we all know how quick he is, but the one Iona guy who could match his quickness but just not as strong, was CC. We didn't have IW for the game and our "depth" was no where near as good as this Gael team, but boy that DL was good. Shooting inside, outside and passing the ball. KA was another guy who had a vg game.

Question for 86. A year ago, or thereabouts, we were involved with a couple of possible transfers, Cam and Deyshonee. One we got and one we didn't. This year we could use some good news, team related. Are we involved with any possible mid-year transfers, or expect any surprise recruiting commitments?

This year we could use some good news, team related. Are we involved with any possible mid-year transfers, or expect any surprise recruiting commitments? Yes... we are recruiting one mid year transfer that I know of. The player was a consensus 3 star player coming out of high school and was recruited by teams from the Big East, SEC, A10 and Big 10. He plays SF, is very athletic, can jump out of the gym and is best in transition. He has no NYC area connection that I can find and I would not bet the house on the staff landing him. Then again, Grasso has surprised us before. Our pursuit of this player has not been made public so I can't release the players name. As much as I would like to provide more info I am also a strong believer in the old saying "Loose lips sink ships".... Current players leaving:Isaiah Williams Ibn Muhammad Aaron Rountree A.J. English Kelvin Amayo * - Possibility he might get another year. Scholarship Players Left:Rickey McGill - PG Schadrac Casimir - Combo Guard Jahaad Proctor - SG Deyshonee Much - SG/SF Taylor Bessick - C Jordan Washington - C Ryder Hines - PF CommitmentsJan Svandrlik - SF Jalen McGaughy - PF/C E.J. Crawford - SG Kai Mitchell - PF If everyone else stays, it would give us 2 more scholarships for next year. We are actually very deep in the paint as we should have Washington, Bessick, Hines, Mitchell and McGaughy. We need a IW replacement at SF and another PG IMHO. We are on some very talented players at both positions, but I do not have any indication of where we stand with these players at this point.

Isn't it possible Amayo may be back due to a MEDICAL redshirt at this point?

86, thanks very much. I'll hang up a pretty big stocking. An XL but not a XXL.

Was hoping for a Christmas gift, but didn't happen. As expected Bashir Ahmed committed to St. John's. Hopefully the staff has success with the JUCO PG I86 mentioned. Would imagine we will hear some news soon if the staff is able to recruit a mid-year transfer

Amayo coming back isn't a bad gift. And if he's 80% of what he was and can remain healthy, it's a very good gift.

Drexel......Home Quinny.....Away Niagara......Home Rider....Home Marist......Home If we get English and Amayo back and they are able to give us 80% they all appear winnable and put us back on track again...And in a refreshed mood... A new start is on the horizon.... Quinny our next opponent is 2-8, but they have played some pretty close games with fair teams...My guess 4-6 point favorite if injuries allow participation.....
