I wish we would change the title of this thread--hardly relevant. quote Super ... You are right again--in your own mind! Speak to some NYC cops about Staten Island like I have--they are disgusted by what happened. Not censorship--that's a conservative game. By the way, once again you said: I made a vow Try keeping it next time. You totally missed the point[/quote] I don't think Obama is responsible for ferguson and Staten Island but his actions and statements have attributed to race relation problems in this country. After Trayvon martins death he made several questionable statements regarding himself and how the trayvon martin situation could've been him. I've spoken to several cops, in fact many of them are my friends in the bronx and they defended the Cops actions. They believe he made a just call, i personally think it might have been excessive in Staten island but if you watch the video, he clearly breaks the law(Most of you laugh at this fact but it is a law) then you can see him resist arrest by smacking cops hands away from him saying "don't touch me". This could've been easily avoided if he didn't resist and he didn't break the law, oh and by the way the superior officer on the scene for Eric Gardner was black so where does the race card come in. By the way this innocent guy that you're defending was on probation and was arrested 30 times before this incident. Some convictions included assault with a deadly weapon, Robbery and larceny. He wasn't a saint like the newspaper makes him out to be. Lastly those cops that you proclaim are "Disgusted" about what happened are more disgusted at how deblasio is handling the situation. Deblasio is throwing cops under the bus and tainting the respect for cops in the community. This thread to me seems to be a political thread so i'm in full agreement to keep this thread open to hear everyone's opinion.

Mary Landrieu of Louisiana reign of extreme liberalism has ended with a bang...She tried every trick of political trickery, and ran as fast as possible from Obama, but to no avail...Riotous behavior still engulfs our country, but soon its embers will slowly flicker away............
Our country like Rip Van Winkle has risen from is deep liberal sleep and refute of all it stands for and has now entered a age of return to American values.....

I hope your right but as long as there are more "have nots" then those that "have", it will be like trying to turn a Mack truck around inside a street the size if a thimble.

Wish that I spotted this thread sooner. Very little spare time this Fall with my second child being born. To me the S.I. case shows you how liberal tax policies distort and taint social systems. Although well intentioned, the higher taxes on cigarettes have caused a black market to develop. This is the natural, but unintended result. Incentives matter. Prohibition was the worst policy this country ever pursued. Look at all the collateral damage that caused.
In this case vendors were complaining about Eric Garner selling "loosies" and since the city council passes the laws (not the cops) the person in question had to be arrested. So what are the cops supposed to do? They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. Now if you have this going on all over the city, it is just a matter of time before an incident like this occurs.
In the case of Ferguson, most reasonable people (even liberals) agree that Brown was the one at fault and that Officer Wilson should not have been indicted. The reason it became such a huge problem nationwide in the streets is we were all lied to initially by witnesses. The witnesses who corroborated Wilson's story had their testimony backed up by the forensic evidence. The initial witnesses who said it was an execution had to then change their stories and thus became discredited. Also, we didn't at first know that Brown had just violently robbed a store a few minutes earlier.
Another sad statement about the quality of journalism in this country. CNN and Fox had their target markets to satisfy and thus covered the story in completely different ways. It is hard to believe they were covering the same story. CNN refused to say they were misled by the initial witness statements. Instead they continued to inflame emotions by doing things like showing the Rodney King beating and the marches in Selma Alabama (really relevant). They should have been upadating us on all the new exculpatory evidence coming in supporting Wilson's story.

Let's stop quoting business cycle statistics. Everyone knows the President has almost no control over the ups and and downs of the business cycle. That is the market. Most of what the President does by way of Economic policy takes effect after he leaves office. The most influence he has over the economy is to regulate markets. For example when Carter deregulated the airline industry.

By the way, gas is down to $2.15 a gallon here in Ferguson. Drill baby, drill!

They should have been upadating us on all the new exculpatory evidence coming in supporting Wilson's story. You may want to slow down on this one. In Bob McCullough's TV presentation, he referenced only one witness who "corroborated" Wilson -witness #10. That witness changed his testimony from what he told the police when first interviewed. When first interviewed, he told the police that Brown was "on the same curb that I was on..." Before the Grand Jury, Brown was "closer to the curb..." To the police, he was "maybe 100 yards" away from the incident. Before the Grand Jury, he was "50 to 75 yards" away. The Grand Jury was not told that this guy changed his testimony. I couldn't tell what was going on at the other end of the Court at the Arkansas game, and I was underneath the basket - 84 feet away. And yes, we didn't know that Brown had robbed cigarillos earlier - and Wilson did not know that either when Wilson confronted the latter. Wilson testified that he was afraid of Brown, who was 6' 4" and close to 300lbs. Did you know that Wilson is also 6' 4" and a chiseled 220 lbs. Wilson's version has not been corroborated! The Brown Grand Jury was given an incorrect rendition of the Missouri Law which authorizes when police can use deadly force by McCullough's office. This version was presented just before Wilson went before the jury. The correct version was presented later, and when asked by a member of the Grand Jury about the revised version of the law, the Assist. DA told the member "to not worry about it". You see the earlier version authorizes deadly force if a suspect is fleeing from a police officer. That version was ruled unconstitutional by US Supreme Court in 1985. The newer version revises that authorization to include that the officers life, or others', is in imminent danger. Consider yourself at least partially updated.

No time right now, but wasn't the issue whether or not Brown was attacking or standing there with his hands up and saying don't shoot. The evidence says he was not doing this.
The President does not control gas prices.
The point was that Fox and CNN prostitute there positions in society and just go after target markets to maximize their profits instead reporting the news responsibly.

The naïve of todays American people never ceases to surprise along with their lack of histories teachings.....Tomorrows headline will feature ''Use of torture''
Warfare is 'Kill or be killed' business and if any body thinks it should be or could be fought under 'The Marques of Queensberry'' rules should have walked in the footsteps of a WW2 combat serviceman...
