Interesting timing on this with Severe? Speculating: Couldn't find a transfer destination and will agree to play the remainder of the A-10 in exchange for a release to go to Rutgers? After being suspended for a poor attitude, he really did have a personal problem that miraculously resolved itself right in time for conference play?

Really bad news for Fordham would be returning to the Maac. Not losing a player.... Hoopy when you get disappointed you always seem to lash out at either Iona or the MAAC. The MAAC is down this year, but its not always horrible.

Who cares, Fordham sucked with Severe playing and they suck without him.

I think thats the attitude of most teams with or without transfers. Doesn't get you all that far when opponents have more talent or you come up short against Monmouth.... LOL

You're putting too much into the Monmouth loss. We'll beat Monmouth at home. Let's go For the most part, we know what were gonna get from the big 4. For the next four, it's a box of chocolate. I agree with the NBC sports announcer from the George Mason game when he said that we are one 6'8" athletic player away from being a tourney threat. While a number of posters may disagree, I feel our team is "mediocre" until proven "good". I guess we will see over the next 3 or 4 conference games.

While a number of posters may disagree, I feel our team is "mediocre" until proven "good". Java.......There are 356 Div. 1 teams...We have for the past 4 1/3 years never ended a year without a ranking outside the top 100 teams...More often then not it has been closer then number 50.......... That would put us easily in top 25% or better of the nations teams... That is far from ''Mediocre'', it is ''Very Good'' and a disservice to the job that Cluess and staff have put forth...I wonder at times if we were number 2 team in the country if some of our fans would be still be dissatisfied we were not No.1.... Put me down as one of the posters that disagree with your analysis...but understand the intentions and high hopes from which all sport fans strive...

While I may be a bit cautiously optimistic with a degree of skepticism at this point, I still need to see more data from our team to draw my conclusions and determine if this team should win the MAAC. We have heard ad nauseum that the conference is extremely weak this year and that we should plow through each game. I beg to differ as I know how competitive this league is year in and out. As was pointed out by 86 in another thread, DL often times is 16ft from the basket and our inability to have our front line players near the basket to retrieve boards concerns me. The team will be faced with uptempo games and half court grinders. Yes, we are an extremely talented and efficient offensive team. However, on an "off" night shooting and minimal second chance opportunities from lack of rebounding, we may face more outcomes similar to the George Mason game.

Three things:
1. Iona is by far the best team in the MAAC.
2. Despite #1, we're still going to lose a couple games, particularly on the road.
3. None of this has any bearing on the conference tournament.
