I think we're looking at the Las Vegas Classic in December, not the November tournament. The Classic would conflict with the Vandy date. Here's the field. Fox Sports is running these two events.
Host Teams (Fox Sports) Colorado Buffaloes (Big 12) Kent State Golden Flashes (MAC) Penn State Nittany Lions (Big Ten) SMU Mustangs (American)
Visiting Teams 4 TBA

this was the one i was referring to last week was this why someone said vandy wasn't definite? Yes O5 said it last week or so: Vandy game not a done deal yet. Could depend on whether or not we get into any exempt tourneys.

I'm guessing those four are looking for cupcakes.

How many of these games are played in Vegas vs. host team sites? I'm assuming 8 teams =3 games. Looks like you get a game or two at the Host team sites and then once you get to Vegas, you stay within your group either the Host group or the Visitors group. So we could play a game at SMU and maybe a game at Colorado, or maybe just one, and then get to Vegas and play the other teams in the visitors group in a semi final/final format. So maybe the visitors group will be us, Stephen F. Austin, Wofford, and Long Beach State. We end up with maybe a game at SMU, and two games in Vegas against Stephen F. Austin and Long Beach State for example. I think that's it. If we win our two games in Vegas, we win our group. Las Vegas Classic Campus Sites: TBA Finals at Las Vegas: Dec. 22-23 Teams (8) Host Teams (Fox Sports) Colorado Buffaloes (Big 12) Kent State Golden Flashes (MAC) Penn State Nittany Lions (Big Ten) SMU Mustangs (American) Visiting Teams 4 TBA Campus Site Games TBA Visitors' Semifinals TBA Hosts' Semifinals TBA Visitors' Finals TBA Hosts' Finals TBA

Wagner will now play both St Johns and Seton Hall next season. They must really suck for those 2 to agree to schedule

[/quote] In years past, we called it 'Front end Loading'.....Last year St. John's was aprox. 12-1 for the beginning of the season...When they began to meet reasonable competition they barely finished 500% the rest of the way...They were shamelessly selected to the NCAA tournament where they were embarrassed quickly....and suffered the indignity and rarity of firing of its coach an admission to the folly of it NCAA selection... Mid-majors will play their toughest teams early...The chances are this will be heavy competition, but seldom the top teams who shun a possible defeat...Thus Wagner...Who is next Binghamton?

Majors have to be careful. Look at Fordham, last year. There were some awful losses. Not sure what you mean with the reference to Fordham. Fordham didn't beat any majors last year. They lost to a bunch of barely D1 teams, but since Fordham is a long struggling mid-major their RPI was terrible to begin with.

You think we've got it bad? Steven F Austin has only 2 OOC games set for next year--7 spots to fill. That's brutal.
Would actually be a fun series for us. Effective RPI wise too.
