Wow the cool aid is really flowing today[/quote What should be said? That we had a close game at home against a bad team? That the player posters are touting as a first round pick was awful. That even though a guy came off the bench for 12 minutes and had zero stats still played very well? Is that what you want to hear?

The Good, the bad and the ugly:
Good: Team fought back from a double digit deficit, when they could have tanked. They managed to win despite a very sub-par performance from their leading scorer. Bebis showed energy and tenacious defense when most of his teammates were lacking defensive intensity. Having Bebis and IW on the court at the same time can really help disrupt the other team's offense. Isaiah had a career high in points scored and has really picked up his offensive game of late; his hustle should be emulated by the rest of the team. Laury took advantage of his superiority against the other team's big men, drew fouls and made most of his free throws. His double double with 30 points is the kind of game we would hope to see more often during conference play.
The bad and the ugly: AJ English's shooting was dreadful today (1-11 from the field and only 5 of 8 free throws. His 4 turnovers, mostly on traveling violations, helped put Iona in a deep hole. I hope there weren't any pro scouts at today's game for his sake. Also in the bad and ugly class: the refereeing, most of the time.

IW with 19 shots--almost more than in the first 3 games total. He went to the hoop aggressively and also followed up 2 missed shots with thunderous dunks. Again--no turnovers We will be a tough out for anyone if DL and IW can pick up for AJ when he's off. Sed --a quiet 16 and had 6 boards..

we have 3 very good players and a rising freshman, whoever is hot or has the matchup should get the ball, aj gets the billing because he takes the most shots, his game is no better than iw or dl and they both try on defense

Positives: *Ryden Hines-He led the team in effort and almosts, as in he almost got that rebound, that block and that loose ball. But his effort was contagious, and the whole team (at least it seemed to me) shifted into a second gear. *Vangelis Bebis-Sure it was great to see him hit those two threes, but from watching those highlight videos, I knew he had a nice three point shot. But what I liked, yesterday, was his play at the top of the zone, where he exhibited an impressive wing span, which was tough to shoot over or pass around. *Kelvin Amayo-Didn't realize it at the time, but the box score showed him with five assists, zero turnovers in 14 minutes. *David Laurey-His best offensive since he's been at Iona. Played and scored in the low post, and was impossible to defend. I've seen him rebound better but don't remember a game where he shot better (11-15). And the game was important, coming off an arrest for fighting, reportedly with a roommate.
Negatives: *Just the obvious, AJ's play which has been much discussed. I was hoping that he would have been pulled in the first half as it was obvious to me, that he was pressing. And I'm guessing that an NBA scout/scouts was/were in attendance. *First half defense. Nuff said.

I was just glad we could survive an off night by AJ with David, Isaiah and Sed all chipping to provide the firepower. Gives me some more comfort moving forward.

Another game like that by CC, and we'll be calling him Steady Cedie.

My favorite take away is the way the team really stepped-up in the second half after looking totally unprepared and disinterested in the first half.
I never thought of this Iona team as being very strong at coming from behind and I'm glad they proved me wrong.
Great job by TC and staff to push the right buttons at halftime to get the favorable result.

[Is there an over/under on the game? 59.......Somebody is going over 80 points, and I am sure it will be us... Latest over-under for our game, as it usually is very high...As we are known by betters for putting points on the board and also allowing a few it is 155...... Looking forward to making this game...Want to start wheel chairing the short distance it alone, but family won't allow it.....Hopefully somebody will show up.... [/quote] Sorry you couldn't make it. I was up for the past 2 games and wanted to wish you "Merry Christmas" in person!

If you are around to watch us put a beating on Florida G.C...Hope to see you then...

We both believe in the same things--only differ on how to get there! Good luck with the transition-I think I know the place. You'll do fine there. Do they have transportation readily available--to take you to games? I'll miss FGCU, but will try to be up for a game in January--and will definitely be up for 2 games in February. Hope to see you then. Merry Christmas/Happy New Year
