Iona now 13 seed in SI bracket playing Maryland. Super you pointing this out and me complaining to him led to this. Too bad we can't do that to the committee, though I think we may have had some input in 2012 with Guy's led Twitter campaign.

We beat Florida Gulf Coast by 19. How are they ahead of us?

We beat Florida Gulf Coast by 19. How are they ahead of us? Because that's the most cockamamie poll of all time. Been way off the mark all season.

(Couple of weeks ago, I suggested--and several disagreed--that we would still be alive in at large discussions if we finished 24-7 and won 2 in the tourney. Current RPI supports this.)

Also going against us is that the MAAC sucks. When we got the at-large, Fairfield, the 4th place team that knocked us out, had an RPI of 113 and won 19 games. The RPI of the second-best team in the MAAC (Rider) THIS YEAR is 144. A neutral site loss to a team flirting with a 150 RPI at BEST is not the way to get an at-large.
If we win out to the MAAC final, we'd be 27-7 with an RPI around 45, but as 70 noted, with no quality wins. We'd be on the bubble for sure, but I'm not sure about the at-large. Granted, I didn't think we'd get one a few years back, either.
One more loss prior to the MAAC final will officially end any at-large hope. And honestly, I am not certain we are good enough to win out, particularly without IW for the bulk of that time.
The bottom line is that the MAAC is pretty terrible this year. We really have no excuse not to win, even if IW is still on the shelf.

Don't see an at-large happening this year even if we run the table. 7 losses and no quality wins in a watered down MAAC is just not an at-large body of work.
The only unknown is how soft the bubble will be this year. If the bubble is extremely weak then who knows, but it would have to much worse than it was in 2012.

What will hurt us is 0-3 v. the top 100 RPI.

Bubble appears quite shoddy--thus someone like Lunardi figuring us for a 12 to begin with. But, we shouldn't even need to worry about it. Where are all those who hated the BracketBusters? Could have given us a real push this year, drawing a top-level mid-major.

Yup. A higher-RPI game right now, road or home, gives us 10-15 RPI points with a W and likely a push even with an L. There are a good 5-6 mids right around us in RPI that would have been a sweet matchup.

My comments/thoughts influenced by overall lack of performance by Mids; thought chances would be slight; like the Laury/AJ factor. Agree with Guy that we should get in on our own--Monday night!

Bracket buster was a huge opportunity for any good mid major to validate an at large, without it an at large is very tough without some big nov/dec OOC wins. We have zero chance this year due to no top 100 wins, they will pick a major before us, they don't care if they have no mid major at larges.
