They are an extremely poor shooting team. Best player (Zach Lewis) is there only scoring threat, shooting 32% from the field. Put a hand in there face, and put a strong effort on the defensive end and we should win by 20+. Lets Go Gaels

Our game against canisius last year was a turning point in the season. Despite losing, we showed a ton of heart to make a big comeback before coming up just short in the end. It also set the stage for the incredible run we would go on, bringing DL3 off the bench for the rest of the season and reeling off double digit wins in a row to run away with the conference title.
Hopefully today's game has a different outcome but the same impact on our success this season.

At the game. Sloppy D in first half. We are also having trouble with their double team of our ball handler in iut half court offense

Only saw the second half. Thought we looked sluggish. Survive and advance. More energy against FF please.

Too close for my liking. It was the DLIII and IW show again. I cannot say how impressed I am with IW's overall game. The man is omnipresent on the court and plays hard on both sides of the ball. Steals, blocks, tip ins, rebounds, and 3s. He is the real deal.
Go Gaels!!!

Not sure why we didn't foul that last play up 3. But it worked

It's a win. Two good takeaways we now know we have to come to play every night both home and on the road, and we won a close game, although it was the typical Iona close win, be tied or ahead last few minutes and hang on. I thought Cluess made a couple of late coaching mistakes, taken too long to shoot with under a minute, a miss and Canisus can hold for the last shot and also we must foul up 3. He did however make a great end of half play giving Amayo room to run 3 quarters of the court in 3 seconds to make an end of half buzzer beater, Amayo is a very impressive athlete, the NFL may need to take notice and I am not kidding around.
Amazing game again by IW including a huge 3 late, and even though AJ was off all night ( a lot has to do with the defense keying on him), he had a ton of assists and made an absolutely huge 3 at the end. Sed may have hit the wall a bit but I think a lot of that has to do with teams are not leaving him open anymore and that has helped others like IW and Laury, another amazing game for him.
Finally I was impressed with Canisus they are pretty good and Baron is a very good coach, can't see how they don't finish in top 4.

Just saw IW's line on Twitter:
26 points 9-13 fg% 6-10 3fg%, including the huge late 3 2-2 ft No fouls 6 rebounds (2 offensive) 5 assists 0 turnovers 3 blocks 3 steals In all 40 minutes And that doesn't show the amazing save he had or his typical good defense, what a game!

In my opinion, Isaiah is the MVP of the Gaels team, and has been for some time. Yes, others may score more and get more press and league recognition, but he is the best defender on a team whose defense often leaves a lot to be desired. No one hustles more at both ends of the court, and his blocks, rebounds, put backs, steals, deflections and saves of balls heading out of bounds are instrumental in many of the team's wins. He is a "silent assassin" when he is hitting his 3 point shots and I'm glad to see him becoming a primary scoring weapon instead of deferring to his teammates. It is a joy for me to watch this talented young man, and I hope he continues his high caliber play throughout the rest of the season, and maybe become a mentor to Bebis.
