Iona won that for one reason, great free throw shooting. Sed is one of the best free throw shooters iona has ever had and Amayo did a great job tonight. Had to be one of Iona's best ever performances from the line. Nice to get the win without 2 of our 3 best players.

Team had a lot of pressure on them all week. Lots of guys stepped up, this was a real team effort. Cluess had them well prepared and playing under control for almost the entire game, great effort. Laury is a stud and Casimir and Amayo played very well, and with a lot of heart. Looked like a good crowd with a loud student section.

Kelvin Amayo making free throws down the stretch. That will be huge if he continues. Teams won't be able to just foul him. Players looked relaxed and knew their roles. Maybe a blessing in disguise (I know it sounds crazy!! ) with no AJ. Confidence booster for other guys. Keep finding a way to win, Gaels!

Could not be more proud of the Gaels. Who said we had no depth?

I tell you if you read the Siena board and some of Tony's remarks about our kids this is a serious slap in his face winning without AJ and IW. Again , let me rob his patented phrase "BITCH SLAPPED".

Was not expecting to win this game. Minus 2 All Maac players and we still up up an 87 spot.[/quote] In my 70 years of watching Iona Basketball, I have seen better played games, but few more inspirational...With 2 of the better players in college basketball out, and forced to use 2 freshman, they banded together and made up their mind that victory was their only goal...Even with a 9 nothing deficit they never lost their cool and battled back with a show of confidence that left Siena wondering, bewildered and looking for a ''Wooden Stake'' A big ''Well Done'' to the team and staff...They destroyed the wish that Iona was wounded beyond hope, but had resurrected its rightful position as ''The class of the MAAC''....

Nice to see Jeff at the game. Anybody know why? Hopefully to measure him for a shirt number to hang next to Guerin's. If the hatchet is buried, it's time.

Nice to see Jeff at the game. Anybody know why? Patsos Siena has a rumor floating around that Patsos will hire Jeff to close the recruiting gap with Iona. I would hate to see that. I suppose that the Siena fan base would to pivot from all the slanderous stuff that have said about Jeff over the years.

If the school is willing to bury the hatchet and retire Jeff's number, fine with me. Jeff can't use the occasion to revisit issues he's had in the past. Both sides need to bury the hatchet and move on from the past.
