MTS, on the MAAC board, says that he's hoping for a third game against the Gaels in the tournament, and thinks they can win it. And I have no problem with that, because that's how fans are supposed to feel. And if we beat them a third time, MTS could handle it, as could JP. But I'm afraid that Soup couldn't handle it, with suicide a possibility. Of course he'd try to make it look like murder, with an Iona player, fan or coach the culprit. But even if he kills himself today, he'll leave behind enough posts to keep me (and maybe you) laughing for years.

Great team effort last night. Ibn, Bebis and Hines played really contributed to the win last night. One thing I noticed about Bebis last night that he gets his hands on the ball a lot of times on the defensive end, without getting himself into foul trouble. Really looking forward to see his game just keep on getting better, and be a important rotation player. I really like his game, especially for a freshman.
Amayo really showed some of what we were hoping to see this season. While he may have some forced to's at times, he plays with a lot of heart, and leaves everything on the court. I have asked a few times and never really got an answer, but is Amayo a soph or JR, as far as eligibility is concerned? Maybe SID can answer this. Only has 2 years of college stats, yet is listed as a JR on the roster and the announcers were saying he is a JR. Would like to have him for the next 2 seasons.

Was a great team effort last night. Really impressed with the way we responded to the adversity. Would've loved to have heard what Cluess was screaming at the team in the huddle before the tip. He was very animated. Sure he's been frustrated all week with attacks on his players.
Hines was very active last night. Made me happy to see that. I'd love to see him bulk up and stay on his feet more. He gets good position but gets pushed around a lot.
Ibn must cut down on the silly turnovers but he played well for the most part.
Great performances by Amayo, Casimir, and DLIII.
I believe that staff believes Amayo will get a 5th year of eligibility as Grad player.

Good point about TC looking like he was really pumped up for this game. There was a close up of TC at the end of the game turning to Bebis, being pretty animated, saying great job. Hope the staff is able to get Amayo that 5th year

After last nights game IBN now shooting 56% from the field overall and 52% from 3, pretty good for an under 6 foot point guard. Laury now shooting 45% from 3.

When TC inserted Ibn in game after Siena's rabbit start is when we almost immediately became competitive. A really satisfying victory because we were short handed and because it was against Siena. Patsos not picking up a second T was amazing. He not only was verbally abusive but also physically abusive. That was some shot he gave the timekeeper's table. Computers bounced. He is really a certifiable nut job. Ensor at the game. Eventually Patsos will be suspended if he doesn't change his act. Right now he is a gift that keeps on giving.

Everytime I see DL getting ready to shoot a 3 I'm yelling, "no, no, no" then "swish" and I'm yelling, "yes, yes, yes". I give him a lot of credit. He said after the last shot against Manhattan in the championship game last year that he was going to work on his outside shot. He has done a tremendous job on that score. The 3 he made last night at the 35 second buzzer was nothing but net. His free throw shooting has gotten far better, also. He is a well rounded beast who can do it all.
The other thing that struck me is how far this team has come playing together. Last year when we lost IW I think we went 2-4. Right now I believe we are 5-1 without IW. I saw in an earlier post that he may be ready to play soon. As much as I want him back in the lineup, I do not want him to push things and come back too soon. As much as I know he loves the game of basketball, I am sure that his doctors and coaches have his best interests in mind and they need to have the final say. Hang in there, IW.
Go Gaels!!!

Watched the game at 1:30 in the morning and loved it. Very proud of the effort all around and even though the final score was close I felt as if they were in control the entire game. Very excited about the rest of the season. Looks like it might come down to Iona-Manhattan after all. On a side note I ran into ESPN announcer John Brickley at the airport in Charlotte, knows all about Iona and thinks they are dangerous. Loves AJ. Line of the night was when asked whether he was color commentator or play by play he said " well, my name is BRICKley, play by play."

KA has such a lot of potential. I am not surprised that he is working on his FTs. He was perfect last night. His dunks were pretty amazing. The announcers said that his first was a candidate for ESPN's Top 10. Don't know if it made it, though.
Go Gaels!!!

Amayo has been practicing 100s of fts daily all year--rarely misses in practice. Talked with him about it--he gets too hyped and thinks too much at the line--we likened it to standing over a 3 foot putt.
