............. , in the MAAC finals. Still have two weeks to go in the regular season, but we've played every MAAC team at least once (I believe), and I'm asking which team do you not want to meet in the MAAC finals? We tend to dismiss Rider (I'm guessing) but they do have the second best, so far, record. However, the team that I feel will be the toughest foe is Monmouth. They seem solid in all aspects, and I think they'll get to the finals, assuming they are not in our bracket. Of course, history tells me that I should be afraid of the Jaspers, but the Hawks seem tougher. Though they don't have the history of playing in big games.

Would like to see the Jaspers least of all. Too physical.
chels, just checked the Monmouth roster, and while I don't know anything about their recruits, they'll have most guys back, next year. Hawks, no matter how they finish, should be picked top five in '15-16. I never expected them to be as good this year.

I do think they are dangerous. Just don't like the beat down Manhattan gives. We are the best team but they dish out some punishment.

I agree. I don't think you want to see Manhattan unless it is the finals. Anything earlier, and you have nothing left for the next opponent. Our legs were shot in the Quinny game, and that was with one day to rest up. In the Quinny game we were short-arming our treys, we could not get off the floor for rebounds (their rebounding aside), and they were winning the loose balls. We did an amazing job to win that game.
Those who've read my posts over the years know I have a genuine and statistically proven fear of the "season sweep" scenario--where you sweep someone during the regular season and then are asked to beat them a third time. (Note: this is only a true factor when the teams have somewhat equal talent.) We've been bitten by this before--vs St Peter's in the 2011 final, vs Fairfield in the 2012 semis. For the sake of discussion, we'll look at the top 6, as teams that will finish 7-11 do not have equivalent talent to us and as such shouldn't matter if we are facing them a third time:
2. Rider. As we've swept them and they have proven to be a very good team, I would be concerned meeting them a third time, even though we handled them relatively easily in both meetings, each time missing a key player (Laury, then IW).
3. Monmouth. They've beaten us once already. You guys are expecting a war when they visit--I am not. I think we'll outplay them thoroughly, as they will clearly have our attention. I don't think they can beat us again this year so I am just fine seeing them in the final.
4. Manhattan. This is not as strong a Manhattan team, but they do play well in MAAC Tournaments under Gonzo. As we host round 2 I expect to sweep them, so yes, I'd have concerns facing them a third time. That said--I don't think they're a lock to get out of the quarters.
5. Quinny/Canisius. Both teams have been up and down. Canisius is banged up and not very deep, so if we see them in the semis, consider this the best matchup we could draw--especially since they have beaten us. As for Quinny, we did sweep them, but I just think their offense is so inept that I don't have a great fear of them. That said, I'd rather draw Canisius if I had a choice of the two teams.
The greatest poster in the history of the MAAC as determined by THREE separate polls.

Did they finally fire Massiello over the degree issue?

C'mon Super, Gonzo, Massiello where splitting hairs here
