Before the season started, who here wouldn't have signed up for a 17-3, 24-7 record with the 1 seed going into this week? Let's get off the ledge and take a breath I'm not on the ledge, honestly the game doesn't matter. I just don't feel as confident about this weekend. Dunne really knows how to beat cluess, our wins have been lucky. Still 3 wins to reach our goal. Dunne has been successful because he is able to control the game pace. We struggle to get into a fast paced, open court game against St. Peter's. If we do meet them again it will be in the final and I think the results would be much different.

We didn't shoot well, that was obvious. But the coaching staff has to make a few adjustments, IMHO. When David was doubled, the Peacocks decided Kelvin had to be the one to beat them from outside. They did a good job covering IW, Cas and AJ on the pass out from the double. We have to make some adjustment (spacing??) so that one of those three is the open man off the double or that Kelvin is slashing down the lane. Smart D and " out of their minds" shooting saved the day for the Peacocks. Gaels, let's learn from this, win three and go dancing! Go Gaels!

This wasn't a bad lost, I think Iona has had some very close games of late and maybe needed to take an "L" before Albany. This game wasn't going to get them an "At Large" invite with a win. The Maac is very soft this year. Only one team will be dancing. Iona, play angry.

We will not be a 14 seed, but we may have lost a home nit game. Here comes a torturous weekend. Agree. Let's win the Tourney.

Not a "bad" loss, but not meaningless. If you're in the camp of them coming up short in the MAAC tournament but still snagging an at-large, this loss is painful. The bigger issue is the team is averaging 68 points a game over the last five. If that is the drill next weekend, I don't think there are NCAA's in the future.

I know that is a lofty goal, but that is what this program needs. We may have the worst record in ncaa history or second worst, we need to win a game.

On to Albany. My confidence took a hit today. An NIT bid won't do it.

Despite today's outcome, I still believe Iona will have a dominant conference tournament performance, they are just a better team than the other 10!

If we meet St Peters in the tourney I am confident that we beat them. The best thing for the team and staff is to take this loss as a sharp slap in the face. Iona is not invulnerable, and we cannot pull out every game where we fall behind big (boy, isn't that a very different problem from what we had the past few years; we don't race out to big leads and blow them anymore). I think we are going to be just fine.

Not the worst loss in the world. Yet, we looked sluggish for the 4th game of 5. I'm hoping we are a bit bored and anxious for the tourney. However, I'm also worried that we could be pushed around by certain teams. SPU out hustled us and roughed us up twice. We had no business winning the first game against them. The refs allowed them to bully us...again. We also have to respond better to double teams on Laury.
Side note - Nice showing by Gaels fans today. Nice turnout in the snow.
