He has not been cleared by the NCAA clearinghouse nor admitted into Minnesota yet. Willing to bet it has to involve some courses he took at Victory Rock Prep. I remember there being a lot of people questioning his decision to leave Scanlan in the Bronx for this school down in Florida.

Some folks on the Friars forum think Paschal left because Bob Simon took the job at Alabama. Some have even suggested tampering and want to see what Providence will do if he ends up at Alabama. I think they are all reaching because they can not understand why he would leave after he already earned the tarting Center position. Some of the Friar fans have even stated that maybe he did not want to go to class, and that he was looking to transfer to that "type" of school.
Did they ever think Paschal was homesick or that he just felt his future was brighter in a different system or program? There could be fifty reasons why he made this decision and none of those reasons have be rooted in something negative or evil... I am sure we will all know more in the future. Let us just hope that the young man makes the right decision that will bring him success down the road. He seems like an outstanding individual and is just scratching the surface of his potential. I wish him luck.

I86, looking at his stats, he only averaged 9.9 MPG.
I know he was just a freshman, but surely more minutes could've been found for a player of his level.
Hard to develop your game watching from the bench.

86, Providence fans (some, anyway) do what many fans do. They try to rationalize why a player leaves. It has always been my take that the Providence coach's style is more Kevin Willard than Tim Cluess. And I feel a big guy will/would help the Friars win, but their offensive game won't develop as much as their defensive game. And that's not to say that they won't get the attention of the NBA, but I feel that BB in college won't be as much fun. At least that is how I see it.

Grown men anonymously posting on a message board shouldn't speculate about a guy's academics because their ego is bruised that he's leaving. Its kind of sad really.

Don't be surprised if Nwankwo ends up at Manhattan. They also offered his best buddy from Scanlan, PG Jordan Riullano, who followed Nwankwo to Victory Rock and also committed to Minn as a preferred walk on. Masiello could use Nwankwo with the departure of Pankey and Vincent Eze de-committing. The Japsers could use more PG depth as well.

Big transfer out of the MAAC, as the future of Canisius, Zach Lewis, says he wants to play higher and is gone. Lewis has transferred to UMass. Interested to see if he gets minutes.
