OT, can't agree with your objection to SLG's reason for voting for Kash. As a member of the Nominating Committee, it was our intent to "try" to put together a slate that represented the decades of graduates, also gender and race, in order to have our entire alumni base represented. His vote might have been racist, if that was the ONLY basis for his vote. And as you know that wasn't the case.

My position was/is very simple. Kash deserved to be elected because he was well qualified, as was the entire slate. I just thought that he was one of the MOST QUALIFIED. Race had nothing to do with it. Possibly being a former athlete (Kash not me) did influence my vote, as we don't seem to have many former athletes who are active at Iona. JMO.

[/quote] As you have self-described on many occasions here, you are a person of many opinions; and, regardless of controversy, you are never shy to offer. I seek your opinion now. Why, in your opinion, was Kashief not elected to the Board? AS for my opinion - for all the reasons I stated above, he should have been elected to the Board.

SLG, were you asking for my opinion or OT's opinion?

SLG, when there are 18 people running for 15 slots, you are voting against yourself when you vote for 15 people. And that's what I did. If I just wanted, and voted for, the five or so candidates that I started the thread with, I might have been happier with the results. But I always vote for the full slate.

OT was on here five hours ago, but has offered no opinion. AS they say in Texas, the man is all hat.

I thought you had to vote for 15 to submit the ballot! Is that accurate?

Super, I don't know. Ask Guy, as I'm sure he only voted for ONE candidate. (SF)
