IMO there is little hope for Pathos at Siena...In recent poll he was mentioned as one of 12 Division one coaches on hot seat...He showed little in his past, and there is no future hope in sight... Waiting in the wings is Ruland who has lots to answer for as to his ''To hell with them'' last year at Iona...He has some skills as a coach and recruiter but his temperament is not likely to change... Siena fans will greet him as the new savior as is their custom...I wish him well... My hope is that eventually Siena will rid its self of past glories, and regain its youth and once again become a MAAC force...How they allowed Albany College to be the new king of Capitol basketball is hard to reason and implies a administration that is incompetent to say the least...There are few schools that have let waist more in terms of location, fans, press, gifted facility and tradition then the Saints.....

greg, when you reach 90, I hope you can spell as well as OT. Uhhh... I can't spell as well as OT now! And I believe OT is purposely spelling it that way!

Patos story and quote........Siena rebuilding...
''It took 9 years at Loyola''
What the hell did he accomplish while at Loyola...It was 9 years of no more then mediocrity...Does he expect suffering Siena fans to be that patient...Not that Siena's administration and staff are blameless and did not see the handwriting on the wall, but that they could be hoodwinked into expecting a resurrection from such a ''Never was'' is the height of over expectation...
In the college basketball game coaches never seem to use up welcome somewhere no matter their efficiency...That itself is surprising but that it is allowed to happen from such a level of leadership is hard to understand...
After giving it much thought, I come to a conclusion we are nearing the end of innovation and take a chance world, are entering a period of lets just play it safe and run out our time...A formula to stagnation......
No where does this scheme seem to work better then in college basketball....
We as Iona fans should be very grateful to have avoided that dark hole...

IMO Ruland and Siena saga not quite over...Think perhaps Ruland and Patos were like oil and water and that Ruland will be waiting in the wings as Patos is given a almost impossible do or die year...
In 9 years Patos is about a 500% Coach...I will never forgive his Curry episode, even though he seems a fun guy to have a beer or two with...

Ruland won't be coming to Siena. It was his job to lose and he lost it from what I read.
Dartmouth's Jordan Watson will instead join the Siena staff.
I like Ruland but perhaps a younger and hungry assistant is the way to go.
