Brazilier and others are tired of Iona's all-hype-no-finish campaigns. So who hypes Iona? The guys here on the message board? Iona? No, the press that covers college hoops.

Brazilier and others are tired of Iona's all-hype-no-finish campaigns. Wow. Sounds like someone is fed up.

I will agree with this, we've had several opportunities since Cluess has been HC to capitalize on positive publicity and we really haven't been able to do so. In keeping in line with the nature of this thread, the only NY team that has really been able to do so is Manhattan. Not even SJ's imo.

Agreed. STJ did not even come close to meeting expectations under Lavin. What Lavin did do was raise the profile of the program, but he didn't come close to the hype. At least Cluess has 120 wins in his five years, with two tourneys.

Fordham is out of their coma, and if they had Paschall this year, they would have at least come very close to making the NIT (probably they would have made it). They're gonna contend for an NIT berth this year, but come up short. I said this during last season, that they would be good this year and they are. Don't understand why Bill doesn't think they are going to be good. He follows them. They're playing the D this year, but we'll see. I guess it depends on what we mean by "good." They are playing a very weak OOC schedule. All but two games are at home. One was at Texas-Arlington, which they lost. They play BC at the Barc in December. Other than SJ's - rebuilding and Manhattan, which played with 5 scholarship players tonight due to half the team being injured, they play teams like Colgate, FDU, Maine, Coppin St, Central Conn, etc. I believe they are improved and actually being coached and I expect they will win most of these OOC games. Let's say they win 9 and go 9-1. A-10 play is going to be a different can of worms. They should be able to beat the bottom dwellers GMU, UMASS, etc. depending on where they play. Let's give them 9-9 in A-10 play, and give them 18 wins. How are they going to get an RPI in the sixties, low seventies with that OOC schedule? It would be very hard. I think they are better coached and improved though and good for them. I said they will contend for an NIT berth, and compared to what they have done the last 20 years, that is very good. Last year when they still had Paschall, I said they had a good chance to make it, but not anymore, since he left. When you consider that there are 351 teams, top 100 is a good year for most programs let alone Fordham. And about the UT-A loss: it was in Austin and they have a great home court. And we know UT-A is good since they also beat Ohio State. If Fordham had Paschall they would probably be playing in the NIT this year.

How is Ryan Rhoomes still at Fordham? He roamed the earth with the dinosaurs Yeah their guys over there complained that Laury was a 24 year old. Said that would never happen at Fordham. Except this year they have a 20 year old frosh as they did last year. Not sure how old Rhoomes is.

Brazilier and others are tired of Iona's all-hype-no-finish campaigns. Wow. Sounds like someone is fed up. Just waiting until March. We all know we will win a mess of maac games and may even win a couple more OOC. Just feeling like I'd like to fast forward to March. Can we beat Monmouth with the money on the table? Can we top a good Siena team at the TUC? These are the real questions. Everything until then is just fluff.

Do you have an early departure clause in your Albany hotel reservation?

Well so far they've done what they've had to do for the most part and they are playing well. I fully expect them to beat SJ's when they play and that's not to take a swipe at SJ's. Neubauer knows what he's doing. My question for you as a follower of Fordham is that Neubauer talks of a one year plan, which I think is good in the sense that he wants to win now. If he wins 18-20 games and turns the program around does he cash in and move on to Michigan with Belein? Or does he come back for year two without Thomas and Rhoomes? The one thing comforting to fans and recruits about a new coach saying he has a five year plan is that he's signaling he's going to be there for a while.

Brazilier and others are tired of Iona's all-hype-no-finish campaigns. Why should he be tired of Iona not living up to hype? Isn't he a journalist? He shouldn't have any feelings one way or another toward Iona. He needs to take care of his St. John's overlords. Monmouth is perfect for him. Yapping about Monmouth on twitter all season will allow him to comment on the MAAC without pissing anyone at St. John's off by praising Iona or Manhattan.
