Could that be hurting us also? Yes! I would hope the young men we recruit wouldn't be that shallow.

I would hope the young men we recruit wouldn't be that shallow. If they can averge 20+ points per game or 10+ rebounds, they could be a Kardashian for all I care!

NYC Teams in CBS Ranking 73 Columbia 87 Iona 96 Hofstra 110 St. John's 160 Manhattan 229 SF-NY 231 LIU 303 Fordham I know you don't like Fordham, Bill, but they are going to be way better then this CBS ranking. Around 150 to 180 probably. If they just had Paschall coming back they would be top 100. They can't do any kind of a good job trying to predict the whole country. It's impossible. It's too much. And SJU 110? That's quite generous considering what Mullin's looking at in his first year. I'll be OK with top 180. Iona underrated at 87.They should be top 60 or even better. But in any case, Fordham is going to be way better then 303.

Sports Illustrated has a review of the BE teams and had SJU ranked ninth out of ten. They also listed the top players of each team and projected their individual stats. And I must say of St. John's top players the only name I recognized, but even now couldn't tell you his name, was guard from Italy.

I meant it in the sense that you didn't think they would be good this year. At least I think I remember you saying that at the end of last year. If they only could have Paschall. I think if they had kept Pecora with Paschall, they would have contended for an NIT berth this year. He was crazy good as a Freshman. And they say Sengfelder is even better this year. Improved a lot, they say on their board. What might have been. They still may finish towards the middle of the A-10 this year. Possibly 8-11.

SI was generous. I might not even watch the Fordham game. Neubaeur insisted on this year's game being played at RHG, and Mullin gave it to him. CM steeped in the history of the game. Gonna store up that feeling and explode on them next year at Carnesecca.

People who know a lot more about BB, than I do, say that while Neubauer is a vg coach, he's not a good fit for Fordham. And I'll admit I don't know what they mean by that. And seeing that SJU is involved with so many high level recruits, I think they'll be pretty good in a few years. If they approach .500 this year I'll be very impressed with CM.And I guess the same is true with Fordham (the .500 part).

I think they mean in the past NB relied on a lot of jucos and transfers, and Fordham won't allow him to do that. I'm not sure about the latter part of the statement.

I expect Neubauer to employ the same strategy Willard did to get us off the deck after Jeff's 2-26 season. Tenacious team defense. Remember when we almost beat Wisconsin? I think we held and pulled every Badger out there. This year NB will have to deal with no 5 second rule and presumably the refs calling hand checking and holding fouls. So we'll see if they do and if they do for the whole year and what effect that would have.

Fordham already has a commit from a Juco, the kid from Monroe. Welcome the Rams to the 21st century.

Fordham has actually taken many partial qualifiers in the past decade or so. Many. And what have they needed to qualify? 13 passed courses in HS, and 700 SAT's? They couldn't achieve that and they got into Fordham?
