OT, I have to disagree about the schedule. I feel that being challenged by Valpo and Oregon State on the road provided a learning opportunity to this team. I am sure the coaching staff told the players what to expect, but if the players do not commit to what they need to do as a team you saw the result. They got knocked down hard early and never recovered. I firmly believe the lessons learned hard are the lessons learned well. This team needed the challenge to understand what is needed to succeed against good basketball teams. It does not matter where you start, but where you finish. I am encouraged by the progress over the four games. The lone concern is not getting off on the right foot to start games allowing the opponent to build early leads. That has to be corrected, hopefully against Marist they can start better. Pray for good health moving forward.

One thing for sure is that AJ's night was one of the best shooting exhibitions we will ever see!

If the time comes that we end the year with a typical Iona fine season, happen to get knocked off in the MAAC tourney and denied a NCAA tourney bid because of those two early embarrassing losses you might come to a different conclusion...

OT, time will tell. My thoughts are that the staff did not schedule with thought of an at-large bid, but rather preparing the team for the run at the end of season. Maybe someday Coach Cluess will enlighten us on their scheduling objectives.
