Yup, sounds like what he'd be expecting. Hoping he (and you) are right.

In my many years as a Gael fan there have been very very few that I did not get just about what I have expected good or bad...Surprise results have not been the norm...
This years expectations are extremely hard to forecast...They could run the gauntlet from disappointing to elation...I am concerned that we fans have been spoiled with the past 6 year results and will take any lesser showing as a disaster...
Sports brings good and bad results, and with each game win or loose, remember when you are feeling down ''And this to shall pass''

I too have generally been on the mark in my years of forecasting the Gaels. And I too agree this year could go either way. But I don't think anyone expects greatness at this point. Sometimes it's not in the cards. I do think we all agree this team has the potential to defend its title in March.

This might be the least fan friendly schedule I can remember in all my years of following Iona basketball:
- Only 2 OOC home games - Only 2 OOC road games within driving distance - Road games in the most inconvenient places to travel to - Games on Thanksgiving, day after Thanksgiving, Christmas week and New Year's Eve - Buffalo trip on a Sunday-Tuesday swing - Draddy game on a Tuesday night
Ouch. The scheduling gods did not smile down on us this year.

The scheduling gods did not smile down on us this year. Totally agree and xmas week games are during weekday afternoons. That and the ooc games are not that interesting. Only at Florida state and home against Ohio excite me. Throw in a few too many NFL sundays and the schedule really can't be as you say any less fan friendly.

Ryden Hines just tweeted can't wait for the Great Alaskan shootout. It appears he is at Iona and is somehow involved with the team. Could he be a graduate assistant coach?

I have actually seen less of our players this year then probably several years...What info and analysis I have depended on is by computer search, film clips and reading this board..... Based on the study derived so far, IMO although we will have height problems at times in the front court, I was impressed but the size, strength, rebounding and aggressive nature of most of our guards...It is obvious that they will not be bullied around and ''free for all'' rebounds will be to our advantage... I also foresee a year when the scoring will be more evenly distributed with Much as the only possible 20 ppg average, but several in the double figures ppg...I also expect the Minutes per game to be also more evenly distributed.....The playing time will be fiercely competitive but Cluess is the proper coach to keep it under control....
