OT, you know what 1970 is because in your job, you came across that type of person more times than you would like to remember. Just ignore him, like 05 did after reading his classy post.

Not sure it really matters if Iona keeps up their play of late. Marist def has the better shooters though and Dunne is very comfortable vs Iona. The 2011 MAAC Final still lingers in my mind when ST. Pete's beat Iona. The Gaels beat them twice (handily) during the regular season but everything the Peacocks through up went in the basket that game. I remember a kid.. Wesley Jenkins and a lefty who went like 4-4 from 3 point land. To summarize... the tournament is a brand new season no matter where you are seeded. Dunne out coached Timmy that game. Maniac, to me that was a game where the ball just wouldn’t go through the hoop for Iona more than TC being out coached. They worked harder to get good shots, but there was a lid on the basket that night.

The lefty I was referring to was Jeron Belin. He had a career game. I remembered the Gaels destroyed Siena in the Quarterfinal, beat the favorite Rider, only to be beaten St. Peters, the cinderalla team.

I went to that game with a few buddies and there was actually a decent student showing if I remember. I think if today's Cluess was coaching that game Iona probably wins. He has definitely learned a lot over the years at the D1 level and it shows as Iona used to blow big leads a lot in the first handful of years and now he just knows to get down first and then force the other team to blow it

Iona didn’t miss in quarters or semis, I think they were due for a bad shooting night and St. Peter’s defense didn’t help. St. Peter’s also seemed like they wanted it more, same with manhattan in 2014.

We were the clear favorite in 2015 and simply got caught sleeping by a team that wanted it more than we did. We then went to URI completely flat and laid an egg in the NIT game. That was a really ugly ending to an otherwise terrific season.

One thing that the Lady Gaels taught us, is that you can't take ANY game for granted.
