So now that it's official and Iona has a very poor OOC schedule, it's time to move on. Only missing piece is the official word on Washington's waiver. Trying to make this OOC schedule interesting, the key would be having a 4-0 record headed into the game at UCONN. The UCONN game is very winnable. They have some solid players but are still in a bit of rebuilding mode. Iona should beat Princeton at the Barclay's center setting up the possibility of going to Colorado at 6-0. Quite frankly that's the only way to get any buzz from OOC. Anything less than 5-2 would be really bad I know of one more game they r trying I do believe it's partly do to outrage here about the sad schedule but im sure people will say no I do know someone else on here also thought we were negotiating d2 games so hopefully we will have at least one more surprise Clemson in the same boat as Colorado and they are way closer and we have 2 other 10 day+ windows

Has this happenes before that we had to wait this long to hear on one of these hardship waivers? Only a few weeks before the season starts.

Has this happenes before that we had to wait this long to hear on one of these hardship waivers? Only a few weeks before the season starts. I remember Much finding out a day or two before the first game a few years back. Also early on in this process Cluess told Varsity insider that they weren't likely to find out about the waivers until just before the season. I think the biggest danger to Washington not getting the waiver is he can then be a grad transfer after the 2020/2021 season, and possibly only play one year at Iona, so for that reason alone I want his waiver to go through, I don't care how many guards we have.

Never have enough guards in the MAAC. Especially guards that had his great A/TO ratio in the Big Ten

Jelly should be cleared, would be surprised if the NCAA doesn’t rule in his favor.

May not be necessary but still wondering if we intend to exercise filling our 13th scholarship. Lots of seniors will be leaving and there may be some nice, high level surprises available mid year. Is anybody else thinking this way or have differing views?

If a kid has a chance to be eligible this season I want him eligible, especially a kid like Washington. I want the best possible roster on the court. Washington has the potential to be the best PG on the team. The other options are Cashaw, who is unproven, and Gist who I rather see off the ball. The other factor is IW not being eligible will kill the buzz of him coming back home and playing for Iona.

My hunch is if he is not eligible this year he will never dress for us.
