Come on Louie, hold that grudge and makeup for blocking us from the big east 40 years ago!

Oliva is the Vice President for Administration, Secretary and General Counsel. He is the chief administrative officer of the University, overseeing Athletics, Public Safety, Human Resources, the Office of General Counsel, Enterprise Risk Management, and Internal Audit.

So you're saying he literally has no business picking the men's basketball coach, but he's a powerful guy in the administration who's power has presumably gone to his head and he doesn't want Tim. Which means if Tim takes the job, this guy will always be one minute away from "I told you so" with the AD and most likely never in Tim's corner. Great. Also the GC shouldn't be the head of internal audit. That will put attorney-client privilege in jeopardy in a lot of instances.

That’s what I think, Olivia being loyal to Louie.

Does Cragg report to Oliva? St John’s can pay more than Iona, but Cluess will be walking into an absolute shit show if he takes the job there. Is that really what he wants at this point in his life.

I would assume that he does. Who knows whether he wants that. Would be a big raise, that’s for sure. But there could well be a nasty price tag that comes along with it. St John’s seems dysfunctional, to put it mildly. I’d be concerned about taking a job where one powerful faction doesn’t want me, especially since St John’s could be a last place rebuild next season. Wouldn’t that be a fun atmosphere to work in.

I’m amazed that Cluess is putting up with all this bullshit. I may have wanted the job last week but with this St Johns shitshow I would throw in the towel. There will be better places than freakin St Johns to coach if he wants to move up, especially if the Gaels have another good year this year.
