Two weeks from tomorrow, we are scheduled to have a "Ribbon Cutting" for the revamped HAC. I first heard about wrap around seating back in the 1980's when Pat Kennedy was HC. In fact, I was told that Pat had blue prints drawn up in order to make this happen. But it never did. Until now. So my suggestion is two fold:
1. Invite Pat to the RC, and thank him for his foresight. Or, since that weekend is homecoming: 2. Invite ALL former living coaches (Men and Women), and let them have a preview of our "new look".
Like I said, JAS.

I can’t recall seeing Pat Kennedy at a game any time in the past several years. Does anyone know if he still has a relationship with the Iona admin?

Pat's wife Jeanie was Charlie McCabe's secy when they worked for Manny Hanny. Charlie is currently a Trustee of the College, I believe and a BB season ticket holder. I don't know if the families keep in touch. I last saw Pat, four years ago, when he attended Pete Gibson's 85th birthday party. He spoke well of his time at Iona.

I should have added that Pat's wife was a Blaney, a family long associated with Iona and Iona BB. I believe her uncle Larry hods the single game (33) rebounding record.

05, not sure. There were about five Blaney brothers, and when George coached at SH and HC, I don't believe I read anything about a family connection. But I just don't know.

According to the Homecoming event schedule, the ribbon cutting for the HAC is at the "North Ave. Residence Hall". I don't get that. Is it a typo? Wouldn't you have that at the HAC itself? Here's the event schedule: www.ionaconnection.com/HomecomingWeekend

Cjb, thanks. Two things: 1. First I heard that the Maroon/Gold scrimmage costs $10. 2. I believe that the person who is working on the ribbon cutting (NA Res Hall) is also involved with our BB schedule.

Assume they tried to use the ribbon cutting for the dorm as a template for the arena but forgot to change the place.
