The Ledge gets the night off!
Good performance by the D, Kennesaw shot 34% and turned the ball over 17 times. I realize they're bad, but in the past even bad times looked like the 1980s Lakers against us.

Nice to get 2 wins but still a lot of work needed. Has to be a reason ortale and especially Cashaw didn’t get in. Gist in at the end is stupid, no one else can play the point? 3 games now in 41 days, we will hear crickets on this board.

A nice beginning of the half. Would love to see them go ten deep and press like that every game for most of the game. In the first half we Saw some of the talent we expected, but kennesaw is not a good basketball team, yet still I Think Iona went the last 5 minutes without scoring. Like to see Iona pull away early in the second half, An easy win would be good for the team moral. Y 10 deep, name 1 college team that plays 10

Joebird, while I don't know why Cashaw didn't play, I'm assuming that Weiss played because he's from Florida, and he might have had family at the game. Ortale, imo, is the better of the two walkons, and I'm sure he'll get PT as the season moves on. Coaches might have wanted to see more of Gist at the point, even in garbage time. Not one of his better games.
P. S. I have to give kudos to the Kennesaw coach. While the team is bad, he has them playing hard, even when they are being blown out. Seems that they haven't quit on the coach. Hope they can improve, as their season moves on.

As for the other comment, how about 9 deep, just think if you are going to press all game guys need to rest more for it to work.

Always amazed when Iona's winning big how FEW comments there are out here LOL. I cant remember if it was last year or the year before but i wrote a post about how if i didnt watch a game i could usually tell if iona won or lost based on the amount of pages for the game thread. As the great Kurt Angle used to say. Oh it's true.. it's damn true!

Effort and energy much better tonight. Struggled a bit to score in the second half but defense held up during the limited scoring. Really like the 1-3-1 defensive set with Mo up top. I think this defense will be useful come conference play. Jelly impressive with ball handling and decisions. Amazing the difference when shots start to fall (Mo, Ross, Van Eyck especially) Hope Risto and Nik are still on the team. Need both for size and especially Risto’s shot. If 2 out of 3 (Mo, Van Eyck, Risto) are on from deep, this will be a very difficult team to defend.

We should thank Commissioner Ensor for arranging for our two OOC wins, and maybe our only two, this year. I love the opportunity to play on a neutral court. And the last game of the Challenge, might have been the best game. It was won by Stetson, over Monmouth, in an enjoyable "down the stretch" game. In their closing remarks, the announcers selected Agee as the tourney MVP. And if I heard them correctly, on the Women's side the MAAC PS POY, Stella Johnson (Rider) HAD 80 POINTS over the two days. Today is supposed to be a day at Disney World.
