Ha! When I made that statement, even I didn't really believe it would take that long!
I CAN'T BELIEVE this has lingered this long. Ridiculous that the kids start practice tonight and Momo doesn't even know yet if he's doing it "for real". Another fine job by the NCAA.

Would still love to know specifically WHO are the decision-makers for this.
I'm starting to get the feeling that it's a few BCS hacks and they won't be real sympathetic to his situation.

Would still love to know specifically WHO are the decision-makers for this. Judge Crater. Amelia Earhart and Jimmy Hoffa.

Maybe they're mistakenly working on Idrissi!

I'm not sure, but I heard we requested the waiver, much later than people thought. But like I said, I'm not sure.

Perhaps Carnac's turban was in the dry cleaner's at the time. Nevertheless, there are hours to go and I will keep a candlelight vigil at the Drudge Report.

I'm not sure, but I heard we requested the waiver, much later than people thought. But like I said, I'm not sure. That thought crossed my mind also. Perhaps it required a good amount of prep work prior to being submitted. That is, not done in some half-assed manner which might produce an unfavorable result. Or perhaps the decision was mailed to Iona President James Ligouri who may have submitted the request.

I heard the waiver went in, in September. Like Cjb inferred, we wanted the i's dotted and the t's crossed. Or so I heard.

59, I had heard basically the same as you and Cjb indicated. I would prefer a little extra "due diligence" at the outset to regrets at the end for not having been more detailed. The worst it can cost is a few extra days to have an answer. Ultimately, the decision and timing are now out of our hands. As I have said previously, whatever the decision may be, this Gaels team will be one to relish being around! GO GAELS! ! ! !

Just thinking the decision on Momo should be coming soon! Maybe my original post served as a reminder to file!

Would love to have MoMo this season, leadership, ability, experience. But with or without him, I think the key to this season is that we get consistent production from Digs, Ridley, and /or Gomez. They don't have to be stars, just take some heat off Mike.

So no waiver yet, right? Isnt it a little shady to announce the addition of Momo to the "2011-12 team" in your season ticket brochure if it hasnt happend yet?

Not at all! The season ticket brochure identifies all of the new SCHOLARSHIP players. Since Momo is not paying his way this season and is on scholarship, there is nothing "shady" about having his name mentioned in a brochure that probably went to print around the same time as the waiver request was filed with the NCAA. "Shady" would be having a scholarship player of his caliber that the staff knew would be playing and "hiding" that fact. Why do I suspect that our inquisitor would be equally unhappy were Momo's name not mentioned? Regardless of the outcome of the waiver, Iona has been very up front as to his status from the very outset of this process.
