Hope you saw last night's (10/27) game. Though often flawed in execution, especially in the early innings; it was one of the best WS games on record. Not just my word. Jason did get tagged, as did several others in a 10 - 9 extra innings thriller.

No question SLG--one of the top 5 games I've seen!

Though not a save, Jason was brought in the 9th to snuff out the last candle available to the Rangers.
A shocker of a world Series for me, since I had The Cardinals pegged for 3rd place in their division as late as mid August. I was only following them to see how Motte, or Applesauce as my daughter calls him, progressed.
I think he is a key piece in what may be the post Pujols era.

Yesterday, Jason avoided Salary Arbritation, by agreeing to a one year $1.95 M contract. If he has another good year, he'll be in line for a BIG payday. Not that almost $2M isn't bad. He's lucky that he couldn't hit a little bit or he might now be out of baseball, or still in the minors.

Better than a 50% probability that Jason will need "Tommy John" surgery. Final decision will be made on or about May 1.
Looks like the Cards will not have Jason this season or next. Huge loss.

I was hoping that he would dodge the bullet on two fronts. First off, you always hate to see a pitcher undergo surgery - no matter how "common" TH surgery is. The other reason is a little more selfish. I have him on both of my Yahoo Fantasy teams, so I guess I must have jinxed him because I had Mariano on three teams last year. I ain't drafting him anymore.

Sorry to hear it but when you need the surgery you have to get it. He will bounce back fine from him and continue to have a good career. The one thing he needs to develop after the surgery though is an out pitch cause teams watch video and realize he only has a 4 seam and 2 seam fastball. His out pitch is weak and needs development.
