Gaels open as a 2.5 pt favorite. Got to admit when I heard Denver was on the schedule I didn't get it, or know anything about them. But they are pretty good. Lead the nation in FT shooting, so if this is any type of home job the going could be rough.

Sounds like it will be a run-and-gun, fun style of basketball vs. the old Princeton slow down. Let's hope we can continue to run at altitude. Looks like those in Vegas think we can.
Isn't it great that the game is on TV! This is a special year.

Our depth is a huge plus in this game. Set the pace early, make them play our game

Denver has an RPI of 8. Iona's projected to win the game--and many others, as RealTimeRPI now projects us to go 26-3 (not including BB game).

This is how I see it. Rating the next six OTC opponents:
1. Marshall -- Toughest of the bunch.
2. Richmond -- They are waiting for us.
3. Denver -- Basically the same team as last year. Must have improved an awful lot.Might be easier than what we think.
4. Vermont -- Not this year.
5. Hofstra -- Not the same without Jenkins.
6. William & Mary -- Might be one of the easiest opponents.
Hoping to go 6 and 0 but will settle for 5 and 1.

Think the altitude will work against up. UD players are used to it; we are not. But I hope I'm wrong.

I had not seen any mention here; however, the Gaels return trip from Denver was somewhat interesting. The team was scheduled to fly home right after the game. However, they encountered delays at Denver Airport - eventually, after several hours, they had to change planes for the flight back. From what I understand, they didn't actually land in Newark (I believe) until the sun was up. Remember, at Iona these are still STUDENT-athletes and finals were still ongoing. Many of our players had to get back to NewRo to sit for their final exams - some with little or no sleep. Ahhh, the romantic life of the college student-athlete!
