Well, at least they are 1-1 against the Gales.

Just keep winning and everything else will take care of itself.

Couple things: Who else watched that Denver halfcourt heave and thought for sure it was going in? I can't believe Iona let them get such a good "look". I too had that "its' not our night" feeling for a good part of the game. Between Denver and Canisius, I think we gave up about 10 3-pointers with less than 3 seconds on the shot clock, including 3 that were from more than 25 feet (1 last night). Before the game, Denver announcers mentioned that the staff had learned much about slowing down the Gaels from watching the Canisius game. Same strategy, holding the ball for a shot late in the clock.

Also, don't you guys hate the fact that we have to listen to Boomer and Carton talk about how bad Fordham is and there is no mention that Iona even played last night? I may try to call in tomorrow. Carton won't give a damn--it's Boomer you have to appeal to. Use the New Rochelle angle; Carlton played in the band at New Rochelle HS.

I just watched the game again on DVR and I know its sour grapes-but damn it seemed like the refs did everything in their power to give that game to Denver. Phantom fouls,Jermel got tossed to the floor and called for the foul. Glover crouched over in pain and the refs let play continue. I think all collegiate refs have a thing for Glover. Either way, we beat Denver and the refs, great F'in win!
On a side note, Joe Scott seems to know his stuff. Has his team ballin, I think we'll hear from them again

Overall, I was pleased with the hostile territory/road officiating. We got some questionable calls and they received some too (the T on Glover was a bit quick but who knows what he said out of frustration). We had 17 PF's they had 16. I thought the offensive charges were called equally. As for Glover being down, if he's not on the court of play, the rule is to play on... Iona needed to call a timeout when they got possession. Also, the biggest play at the end of regulation for Denver wasn't called a foul against Iona (as is typical with no time on the clock) and certainly could have been. Udofia who was 6 of 6 at the line would have certainly made 1 of 2 and Iona would have netted another tough loss in regulation. JMO

No home cooking at all.
